The artist is the confidant of nature, flowers carry on dialogues with him through the graceful bending of their stems and the harmoniously tinted nuances of their blossoms. Every flower has a cordial word which nature directs towards him. (Auguste Rodin)

Silent, full of tension — the woman of the present meets the woman in the image. Two bodies, one rhythm. Movement that lives on, across generations.

Dear friends, I had not been able to set a photographic session - i.e. "a sunrise session" - for a long time. Ironically, when the opportunity came, I was not prepared - nonetheless I made my best efforts to seize it. Having no time to scout for a new location, I resorted to my favourite enchanted garden - a small, peaceful corner of land along the valley of the river Adda: just downstream Lake Como, just before the river enters the Padan Plain - a handful of meanders and a plot of wetlands where secret, ancient words spiral in the air along with the breaths of the river and the earth.
As the sky was slowly brightening a dense, shapeless mist rose from the river - a precious feature of the location, but... well, it looked too dense that morning. Every hint of detail was engulfed and nullified by that milky, glowing nothingness. However I shot a lot of bracketings, faintly hoping that in post-processing (thanks to the raw magic of RAW files) I would be able to make something emerge from that apparent nothingness. But, believe me, it was a bit frustrating - quite a poor day to seize, as an impudent voice kept repeating in the back of my mind.
The sun was already climbing above the horizon, largely ignoring both the frustrating blanket of fog hovering over the river and my little feelings about it - and lo!, suddenly the world was emerging all around me, like the restored backup of a long-forgotten dream. Golden rays started playing all around, piercing the ever changing veils of mist, feeling and unraveling the intricate textures of the trees. Then a glorious crown of light spread out just in front of me and for a while I was just the awed witness of an unfathomable dialogue between the river and the sun.
I have obtained this picture by blending an exposure bracketing [-1.3/0/+1.3 EV] by luminosity masks in the Gimp (EXIF data, as usual, refer to the "normal" exposure shot), then I added some final touches with Nik Color Efex Pro 4. Denoise with Nik Dfine 2.

Conversations that are alive with change and interaction, moving beyond simple Q&A to actively shape the narrative, reveal character, and advance the plot.
His dilemma was anchored in the dualistic point of view that set the secular world over against the monastic cloister. He noted, “I brought all the instincts of a writer with me into the monastery. . . . [T] here was this shadow, this double, this writer who had followed me into the cloister.” 51 His conflict was radically described: “Maybe in the end he [a writer] will kill me, he will drink my blood. . . . There are the days when there seems to be nothing left of my vocation—my contemplative vocation—but a few ashes.”

Another poetic example of Alicja Kwade's sculptures. Two boulders talk in silence, but the noses do not point in one direction. Neither do the chairs.
The tension comes from inside. Stone is full of itself and does not let anything go. Some people don't do that either. They cherish an impenetrable history and petrify.
Both chairs are not made of wood. The burden they have to bear is far too great. Alicja Kwade has accurately recreated them from metal. The difference in model underlines a difference in character.
