Signed sheet of Baksy's Diana faced £10 notes.
It was a limited edition of 50 for £100 - i was lucky to get one at the time. Just gutted i had to sell it when i had to give my company car back...
(and i sold it back in the day before the prices rocketed - if i'd held on to it for another year i'd have got 10 times what i did!)
This plane was used by Walt Disney while he was scouting out places to build Walt Disney World in Florida. He would bring himself and his Imagineers (designers) from California to help in the planning.
The plane is a Grumman G-159 Gulfstream I twin engine turboprop that was built in 1963 and put in service May 1964. The tail number of N234MM was specially assigned to the plane by the FAA (MM meaning Mickey Mouse). By 1978, the plane had logged 4.3 million miles or 12,300 hours. It was retired to Disney World for display October 1992.
This is now part of the Backlot tour - taken during our 2003 trip to the Disney-MGM Studios (Now Disney's Hollywood Studios).
Il Lago di Carezza è un meraviglioso lago alpino situato nell'alta Val d'Ega a 1.534 m nel comune di Nova Levante, a circa 25 km da Bolzano. È incastonato tra fitti boschi di abeti e si trova sotto le pendici del massiccio del Latemar, che si specchia nella sua acqua cristallina.
Il "Sarcofago di Velletri" (II secolo) riassume – come ha dimostrato Bernard Andreae – nel modo più completo l’insieme delle idee escatologiche su cui si struttura il simbolismo dei sarcofagi cristiani nel III secolo. Vi si narra, infatti, una storia che fu soggetto di una tragedia d’Euripide: la regina Alcesti, moglie del re Admeto, sacrificò la propria vita per salvare quella del marito, ma per la nobiltà del suo gesto fu riportata fuori dal regno dei morti grazie all’intervento di Ercole.
Alla base di questo mito c’è la convinzione dell’immortalità dell’anima, la quale giunge, dopo la morte corporale, in un Aldilà con il quale, esiste possibilità di comunicazione attraverso l’amore; l’uomo nella vita è come un attore che recita una parte (sul sarcofago vi sono elementi teatrali e maschere) e deve sopportare con forza le prove che la sorte gl’impone (come Eracle). Non deve opporsi agli dei ma, al contrario, dimostrare il proprio ossequio e comportarsi con paziente umanità. Nereidi, Tritoni o aquile sono gli accompagnatori verso le Isole dei Beati. Nel sarcofago di Velletri tutti questi concetti sono riuniti ed espressi mediante simboli ed allegorie.

Civita di Bagnoregio is a town in the Province of Viterbo in Central Italy, about 120 kilometres north of Rome.
It was founded by Etruscans over twenty-five hundred years ago but has seen its population dwindle to just fifteen residents over the course of the 20th century. Civita was the birthplace of Saint Bonaventure, who died in 1274. The location of his boyhood house has long since fallen off the edge of the cliff. By the 16th century, Civita was beginning to decline, becoming eclipsed by its former suburb Bagnoregio.
At the end of the 17th century, the bishop and the municipal government were forced to move to Bagnoregio due to a major earthquake, accelerating the old town's decline. At that time, the area was part of the Papal States. In the 19th century, Civita's location was turning into an island and the pace of the erosion quickened as the layer of clay below the stone was reached in the area where today's bridge is located. Bagnoregio continues as a small but prosperous town, while Civita became known in Italian as il paese che muore ("the town that is dying"). Civita has only recently been experiencing a tourist revival.
The town is noted for its striking position atop a plateau of friable volcanic tuff overlooking the Tiber river valley, in constant danger of destruction as its edges fall off, leaving the buildings built on the plateau to crumble. As of 2004, there are plans to reinforce the plateau with steel rods to prevent further geological damage. The city is also much admired for its architecture, some spanning several hundred years. Civita di Bagnoregio owes much of its unaltered condition to its relative isolation: the town was able to withstand most intrusions of modernity as well as the destruction brought by two world wars. The population today varies from about 12 people in winter to over 100 in the summer.
The town was placed on the World Monuments Fund's 2006 Watch List of the 100 Most Endangered Sites, due to the threats it faces from erosion and unregulated tourism.

A casa di Lelio (mio suocero) il presepe è una vera istituzione. Lo abbiamo allestito il 21 Dicembre e resterà lì per molto tempo dopo il Natale. Lelio prega ogni giorno davanti al presepe e questo luogo diventa una piccola chiesa. Come l'angolo dei Penati per i Romani o l'angolo delle Icone per i Russi.
Il grande quadro che sovrasta la scena rappresenta Alessio Sottotetti, antenato, sacerdote, vissuto durante l'invasione napoleonica, personaggio interessante e ancora vivo nelle storie di famiglia (ed anche somigliante).
The Trevi Fountain (Italian: Fontana di Trevi) is a fountain in the Trevi district in Rome, Italy, designed by Italian architect Nicola Salvi and completed by Pietro Bracci. Standing 26.3 metres (86 ft) high and 49.15 metres (161.3 ft) wide, it is the largest Baroque fountain in the city and one of the most famous fountains in the world.
The backdrop for the fountain is the Palazzo Poli, given a new façade with a giant order of Corinthian pilasters that link the two main stories. Taming of the waters is the theme of the gigantic scheme that tumbles forward, mixing water and rockwork, and filling the small square. Tritons guide Oceanus' shell chariot, taming hippocamps. In the centre a robustly-modelled triumphal arch is superimposed on the palazzo façade. The centre niche or exedra framing Oceanus has free-standing columns for maximal light and shade. In the niches flanking Oceanus, Abundance spills water from her urn and Salubrity holds a cup from which a snake drinks. Above, bas reliefs illustrate the Roman origin of the aqueducts. The tritons and horses provide symmetrical balance, with the maximum contrast in their mood and poses (by 1730, rococo was already in full bloom in France and Germany).
A traditional legend holds that if visitors throw a coin into the fountain, they are ensured a return to Rome. Coins are purportedly meant to be thrown using the right hand over the left shoulder. This was the theme of 1954's Three Coins in the Fountain and the Academy Award-winning song by that name which introduced the picture. An estimated 3,000 Euros are thrown into the fountain each day. The money has been used to subsidize a supermarket for Rome's needy; however, there are regular attempts to steal coins from the fountain
