This is café Eik en Linde. The other day i walked in, drank a Duvel and took some pictures.
At the bar people were gossiping about Robert Jasper Grootveld, de rookmagiër uit Amsterdam. Grootveld was a preluder to PROVO, an anti authoritarian movement in the 1960's that - whats in a name? - tried to provoke the uptight Dutch pre-war establishment. Last years he has been building styrofoam islands to help the world with rising waterlevels. According to the gossippers at the bar Grootveld had ran downhill and had become a lonely man
Eik en Linde is the pub for many worldimprover, provocateur, artists and writers. Grootveld belonged to the clientele for many years. I have this Eik en Linde photocollage composed a while back .. i like it. Tonight i read Robert Jasper Grootveld died, so i think here is a memorable occassion to post.

It's important to design in context. In other words, the environment in which the design is produced should, as closely as possible, match the context in which the final product will be used.
In this case the development team was based in a heritage centre (think museum/visitor centre) in Brighton.
We made a special effort to test the application with touch screens as this was to be the delivery medium for our kiosk software.
This is an old site I have about programming I did, I'm always trying to hone my skills as a designer, you never know enough.

║ Since I worked for a small company, I was able to create several
║ different "jobs" throughout the years, to help the business
║ grow and to further my knowledge as well. Including but
║ not limited to : database/SQL and point-of-sale implementation
║ and management, webmaster, online sales and shipping,
║ ordering of music, organization of products, etc. I worked for an
║ independently owned new and used music and book store. I
║ worked mainly with record albums (vinyl) and cd's. With the
║ awesome employee discount I was able to collect a lot of music
║ and books unique to my interests throughout the years.

De ACT terminal is onlangs verkocht. Zie link naar parool onderaan. Dus langzaam maar zeker moet het NSR spul ruimte gaan maken. In de nacht van 4 op 5 juni is Volker druk bezig geweest en heeft men 22 AmRo rijtuigen verplaatst van de Hrp naar de Dijksgracht. Hier nog een overzichtsfoto.

The Amsterdam Tattoo Museum of Henk “Hanky Panky” Schiffmacher.
The museum was started on 05 November 2011 at Plantage Middenlaan 62, but after about a year it became known that a conflict had arisen between Schiffmacher and his financial partner, who went bankrupt. As a result Schiffmacher was not allowed to enter the museum and recover his collection. The museum in Van Woustraat is a pop-up gallery, opened on 28 February 2013. A permanent location is being looked for.
Schiffmacher’s tattoo shop is a minute’s walk from here at Ceintuurbaan 416.
Update: the museum at Plantage Middenlaan is closed, see www.parool.nl. The extended story is in the paper edition of Het Parool of Wednesday 20 March 2013.

Paul de Leeuw speelt de hoofdrol in de film 'Alle tijd'.
Samen met mijn vrouw liep ik over de 'Lange Vijverberg' in Den Haag, toen we zagen dat er een aantal personen bezig waren met het opzetten van een enorm reflectiescherm. We besloten even te wachten en even later waren we getuige van de opname van een filmscène met in de hoofdrol Paul de Leeuw.
