As well as being painted since our last visit this DFS 230 has become somewhat overgrown – at one time it was very prominent as you approached the village along the road below and seemed to almost be swooping down to land! Now it is virtually invisible and to get a photo with some contrast I had to climb out along the cemetery wall above a substantial drop!
K573 DFS is a Volvo B10M with Plaxton Premiere bodywork. Seen with Stagecoach East Midlands as their 52143 at Hull.
I painted up a couple of these for the table. Just wanted to add some character.
The German player (Martin) briefing: Your Company has been tasked with a glider assault on the Bridge. Due to strong winds you have landed off course and your command’s gliders have been separated. Your command team is together. Gather what men you have and drive towards the bridge. While landing you observed several parachutes dropping near you. You will use whatever troops you find nearby. He had 2 sections of paras with 1 MMG team and a Lvl II BM. The glider troops had 2 sections, a HQ section with 2 50mm mortars and 2 ATRs and 3 BM- Lvls IV, III and II.
