I don't think there's a more beautiful place on this earth than Streator, Illinois in the middle of winter right? Regardless, a nice pair of H1 GEs sure make it look a lot better. Here's the pair leading V-BLUPTS through the gritty industry of Streator.

Parque dos Moinhos, located in the Barosa river waterfalls, in the parish of Barro, Galicia, is a natural space that houses a set of waterfalls that descend through several rocky layers, forming small lagoons and channels. This place is rich in ethnographic heritage, with several water mills built between the 17th and 19th centuries, which took advantage of the river's strength to grind cereals, exemplifying the Galician rural architecture linked to small agricultural properties. Along the circular pedestrian path, visitors can observe traces of these mills, enjoy trails, bridges, picnic areas and natural pools. The park, a crossing point on the Portuguese Way of St. James, is a popular destination for hiking and contact with nature.
A Houseboat passing on Backwaters at Alleppey. Once in a lifetime Kerala trip is must do visit. Alappuzha (or Alleppey) is a city on the Laccadive Sea in the southern Indian state of Kerala. It's best known for houseboat cruises along the rustic Kerala backwaters, a network of tranquil canals and lagoons.

I wonder how many planks of wood there are in Newcastle railway station roof.
In any event - it's a phenomenal structure, in this case splashed by unseasonably warm November sunshine.
Of all the paths you take in life, make sure a few of them lead to magical sunsets at the beach.

Life is so strange when you don't know
How can you tell where you're going to?
You can't be sure of any situation
Something could change and then you won't know
You ask yourself
Where do we go from here?
It seems so all too near
Just as far beyond as I can see
I still don't know what this all means to me
You tell yourself
I have nowhere to go
I don't know what to do
And I don't even know the time of day
I guess it doesn't matter any way
Life is so strange
Destination unknown
When you don't know
Your destination
And something could change
It's unknown
And then you won't know
Destination unknown
Life is so strange
Destination unknown
When you don't know
Your destination
And something could change
It's unknown
And then you won't know
Destination unknown
You ask yourself
When will my time come?
Has it all been said and done?
I know I'll leave when it's my time to go
'Til then I'll carry on with what I know
Life is so strange
Destination unknown
When you don't know
Your destination
And something could change
It's unknown
And then you won't know
Destination unknown
Life is so strange
Destination unknown
When you don't know
Your destination
And something could change
It's unknown
And then you won't know
Destination unknown
Life is so strange

A few weeks ago, Tom & I were able to get away for a quick trip to Colorado just in time to catch some of the fall color. It had been some time since we were able to venture out, so we were quite excited. We had a few things on our "to do" list that didn't involve photography, but rest assured we incorporated some photographic adventures along the way.
We tried to "just wing" the trip regarding photography ... hoping to capture the fall colors, which made an early arrival this autumn. One of the areas that we wanted to explore was the San Juan Mountains. This image was simply taken along the road ... to what was roughly "destination TBD". It could not have been a more beautiful day ... nice and cool for us to be refreshed, sunny day that still offered a bit of clouds along the way, and gorgeous scenery such as this the entire way. It was just breathtaking. Just what my soul desperately needed after a summer full of challenges.
While enjoying Colorado, we found the time to meet up with some friends along the way, explore new areas, and go 4-wheeling on some of the roads less traveled (big shout out to Rick Louie Photography for that amazing adventure). Of course, it wouldn't be 2016 without some more challenges along the way in the form of an unexpected Cat 4 hurricane taking sights on south Florida (i.e. my coastal home). After the initial panic mode that ensued, we actually got a bonus side trip to Rocky Mountain NP out of it, just in time for the elk rut season, so I certainly couldn't complain. Life is good.
Thanks so much for stopping by to view. I hope that everyone is having a fantastic weekend. South Florida is actually having a cold front right now ... it's a brisk low 60's outside. LOL Joking aside, it does feel amazing!

One of the few remaining HHP-8 electrics still active, MARC 4913 disappears into a fog bank at the Martin State Airport stop in Middle River with a destination of Washington, DC.
MARC train 525 originates here and there was a handful of patrons boarding although crew members outnumbered the commuters.
You'd be amazed at the amount of activity pumped thru Pullman Jct even nowadays. Sure the names and destinations have diminished in quantity over the decades, but this location remains quite the impressive chokepoint within Chicagoland.
BH45 approaches the bird, bound for Clearing...I assume. The unknown stack transfer with the pink ONE container will be next to get clearance thru the junction. CP is sending a 680 sand train bound for Calumet Yard down the Belt as this photo is being made. CSX also has one west and one east for and to Clearing Yard via Pine Jct and the Water Level Route.
Of course this means my target - the CP heritage guy on G52 in the background - is going to wait til the absolute possible moment to get permission from NS' Calumet Yardmaster. They'll pull in with about 20 minutes left to work.

Candid street photography from Glasgow, Scotland. This scene tickled my sense of humour, especially with the guy on the right and his sock tan lines! Enjoy!
Machu Picchu is an Incan citadel set high in the Andes Mountains in Peru, above the Urubamba River valley. Built in the 15th century and later abandoned, it’s renowned for its sophisticated dry-stone walls that fuse huge blocks without the use of mortar, intriguing buildings that play on astronomical alignments and panoramic views. Its exact former use remains a mystery.
Peru is a country in western South America. It is bordered in the north by Ecuador and Colombia, in the east by Brazil, in the southeast by Bolivia, in the south by Chile, and in the west by the Pacific Ocean.
Peru is a magical destination, abundant with ancient ruins dating back to the Incas.
Peru is the third largest country in South America, after Brazil and Argentina.

Imagine each light represents a day of your life.
Is there a destination in life?
To love?
To feel?
To grow?
To live?
To know?
Or is life simple pleasures,
Of falling down,
knowing someone's there to pick you up off the ground?
Maybe life is a dream,
Where you wake up in Happily-Ever-After-Land in the end?
To wonder,
To dream,
To explore
All unknown.
