Tech Cocktail welcomed Tim O’Shaughnessy, the Co-founder and CEO of LivingSocial, to the stage at our DC Sessions event on October 16th at 1776. The room quickly filled as entrepreneurs, tech enthusiasts and local professionals gathered to hear Tim’s story about Living Social and absorb some words of wisdom from a man that has experienced both the good and the bad. We’ve released several maps showing the extent of the famine and aid efforts happening in response to it in the Horn of Africa, and are slated to release new ones with updated data from USAID. Nate will present at the September Geo DC meetup on these maps while USAID will present on their use and advocacy of open data around the crisis.
