Rupin Pass Trek : Rupin Pass is a high altitude pass across the Himalaya mountain range in state of Himachal Pradesh, India. It lies on a traditional shepherd and hiking route which starts from Dhaula in Uttarakhand and ends in Sangla in Himachal Pradesh. The path itself is located across mostly uninhabited areas in the Himalayan ranges at an elevation of 15,250 ft (4,650M) above sea level.
Day 1: Pick up from Dehradun railway station and proceed towards Dhaula
Day 2: Dhaula 5,100 ft to Sewa 6,299 ft
Day 3: Sewa 6,299 ft to Jhaka 8,700 ft.
Day 4: Jhaka 8,700 ft to Saruwas thatch 10,250 ft.
Day 5: Saruwas thatch 10,250 ft to Dhanderas thatch 11,680 ft (lower water fall camp)
Day 6: *Buffer day. Dhanderas thatch 11,680 ft to Upper Waterfall camp 13,300 ft.
Day 7: Upper Waterfall 13,120 ft to Rupin Pass 15,250 ft to Ronti Gad 13,420 ft.
Day 8: Ronti Gad 13,420 ft to Sangla 8,800 ft.
With the additional weight of each successively heavier Tinkerer, the rope continues to stretch and sag, but Tywen shows the structure is still quite sound.

So I just got back to UCLA, a lot earlier than I expected, and a lot unhappier than I expected. On the way back, I felt so shitty that I decided to stop by my favorite tea shop! Tapioca Express and get my comfort drink. honey green tea+white boba+large.
So like I was thinking about it, and like before, no matter how sad I was or no matter how bad I felt, a cup of green tea would always make me feel okay. all better.
but today, I really didn't feel all better. now don't get me wrong, i felt a lot better. but i needed something else. so now i'm here to get it.
I'm sitting like a hobo against Dykstra room 518 and waiting for a certain someone to get back from their home so I can just sit in the same room and study with them. Because it's gotten to that point, just sitting next to them will make me feel that much better.
anyways, while sitting like a hobo I realized I could hear straight through most of the nearby dormitory rooms. How odd/unnerving. anyways, some mexican guy, and his uncle? and cousin(girl)? just got into their room, and now they are like loudly arguing. and i couldn't help but eavesdrop.
So bascially, they were arguing about a whole bunch of things. but one of the big things was the economy, and the recession, and it was just so interesting to see how passionate the mexican guy was about people playing the market and causing the recession. he was so like angry towards them because he knew what it meant to his family and yup.
felt.. kind of empathetic iguess, i guess it kind of fueled my fire. when we're still young, i guess we still have the strength/the will to make a difference, and we're not ready to accept some things that we don't agree with.
on a more.. on-topic note Iguess:
I know I bailed on plans with klennox and eNakamura today, so I guess here is a little explanation of what happened, becuase i'm pretty sure you guys are at least wondering.
so first of all, i stayed up all night studying, and towards 3-4am, Christiana's... ex lover(?) emails her like, "i love you" over and over again, in his drunken blazre. and like apparently he's sitting there drunk with his new girlfriend, so she sees it and she like freaks out, and calls christiana, and like eats her alive for "stealing" her boyfriend. which she obviously isn't. but anyways, so i spent the whole night getting the story out of Christiana, then convincing her that she didn't steal me from anyone. and that I wanted to be with her. and a whole bunch of ofther things. So I had the shittiest ass night ever. in addition to that though,
My new Sony Vaio Z series, came and I had to open the back panel to insert my new hard drive and etc.
so i addition to findig out that replacing a hardrive on a laptop is about 100000x more difficult than a desktop, mostly because of "drivers" and how they are not released on the web because manufactorers frown on hard disk upgarde, I also couldn't get a SINGLE screw out.
so me being an idiot, stripped the screw, and so we started to take them to computer shops.
We took it to alice's computers in San Marino first. After a few minutes they wer elike oh, we can't do it. and so we brought it to a second one, and they KEPT trying to use a screwdriver. which
HELLO just strips it more.
so anyways. I then made my way to Home depot to get parts to do it myself.
needles to say this didn't work so well either. so basically now i ahve a laptop with one screw that can't get in. we're going to try to return the computer, but i have no idea how that'll go.
basically i won't have my new laptop, which i've been like looking forward to for forever, for like at LEAST another month.
if at all.
so that's why i didn't hang out with anyone today. i'm so ridiculously stressed because i have an essay due and a midterm on monday. I feel like i'm giong to die. fuck me.
Day 6/365: Open My Eyes Challenge - The reason I did this challenge is to push myself to learn new things about photography. To see beauty in things everyday. Today I used my Tamron Macro 90mm with two extension tubes on it - 13mm and a 21mm. Using the extension tubes create very interesting images!
Lesson Learned: I am shooting in raw vs jpeg. I'm trying very hard to learn how to process a raw image. I'm starting to see the benefits - you definitely have more control on how the final image looks. It's taking a lot of time - but practice practice practice!!

After yesterday's momentary lapse of safety gear wearing, Tywen more than makes up for it today with every strap and rope he can get his hands on.
Since most of the project tests in Tinkering start with the shortest or the lightest member of the group, Piper is inevitably last. Today is her lucky day, with nearly new hand-me-down sneakers from her aunt (finally the reward of grown-up size feet!) and first priority for a visit to the 2nd floor of the treehouse.
