Au programme : ramassage d'insectes sous les feuilles et dans la terre, observation, dessins et explication du cycle de la matière organique.

“A Capitol Fourth” is a free annual concert performed on the west lawn of the United States Capitol Building in Washington, D.C., in celebration of Independence Day each July 4. Broadcast live on PBS, NPR and the American Forces Network and presented by WETA, the concert is viewed and heard by millions across the United States and the world, as well as attended by more than half a million people at the Capitol. The concert traditionally features elements of the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard), the United States Army Presidential Salute Guns Battery, the U.S. Army Band (Pershing's Own), the National Symphony Orchestra and the Choral Arts Society of Washington, who provide much of the music during the show for various celebrity artists. A celebrity host and a variety of guests entertain and pay tribute to their country throughout the evening.

A scarf woven in bamboo in a double weave windows pattern on 8 shafts. I was doing a 3-D sizing/spacing of the windows when I saw a scarf which had the darker border on the windows. I thought it would be great to enhance the 3-D effect.

Une fois passé le châtelet d’entrée, le jardin offre une alliance harmonieuse du minéral et du végétal. Le ton est donné, c’est ici un monde du raffinement, tel que Madame de Maintenon l’avait imaginé. Fidèle à l’esprit de Le Nôtre, qui en conçut les plans initiaux, les parterres ont rejailli de terre en 2013 et invitent à déambuler autour des topiaires et des rosiers en admirant la perspective qui s'ouvre sur le canal de l'Eure.A la nuit tombée, le jardin devient féérie grâce à une mise en lumière fiancée par un mécénat d’entreprises, via le Fonds de dotation Patrimoine d’Eure-et-Loir.
Site géré par le Conseil départemental d'Eure-et-Loir depuis 2005, le château de Maintenon est un domaine inattendu, à taille humaine, et riche d’une histoire millénaire. En 1674, Françoise d'Aubigné, veuve du poète Scarron et future Madame de Maintenon, achète le domaine qui lui donnera son nom. Elle aménage et fait agrandir le château pour y recevoir Louis XIV qui trouve en ce lieu l’opportunité d'alimenter les bassins du Châteaux de Versailles par les eaux de l'Eure. C'est à Vauban que l'on doit le projet titanesque de l’aqueduc, caprice royal inouï resté inachevé ; l’architecte réalise ici son unique ouvrage civil, dont les vestiges signent aujourd’hui la singularité du site.
The Château de Maintenon is a château, developed from the original castle, situated in the commune of Maintenon in the Eure-et-Loir département of France. It is best known as being the private residence of the second spouse of Louis XIV, Madame de Maintenon.
The construction of the castle began in the 13th and ended in roughly the 18th century. In the early 16th century it was purchased by Louis XII's treasurer Jean Cottereau, who transformed the castle into a country house. In the 17th century it was rebuilt for Madame de Maintenon, who purchased the estate in 1674
The château's main features are the keep, constructed in the 13th century, and the principal corps de logis, flanked by three round towers, one at the avant-cour and the others at the bridge across the moat. The east and west wings frame a cour d'honneur, beyond which is the moat filled by the waters of the Eure, and, beyond, the parterre and park. The picturesque massing of the varied towers and roofs pleased François-René de Chateaubriand who found its special character was like that of an abbey or an old town, "with its spires and steeples, grouped at hap-hazard".[2]
At the far end of the gardens is the aqueduct, crossing the Canal de l'Eure, also known as the canal de Louis XIV, ordered by Louis XIV. Its colossal scale impressed Chateaubriand, who said that it was "a work worthy of the Caesars".It was constructed by the Marquis de Vauban between 1685 and 1690 in order to transport water from the Eure River to the gardens and fountains at the Château de Versailles.
In the 17th century there was an orangerie constructed as well as stables.
