Department store JCPenny featured Texas-based gay fathers - Cooper Smith and Todd Koch - in a June advertisement. The move drew criticism from anti-marriage advocates, some of whom asserted that two men cannot effectively raise children. This marks an increasing comfort with advertisers to feature same-sex couples.

I have not been able to verify that these journalists are in fact Democrats. They have merely been accused by some of the rightwing blogs as being part of the "liberal media"

If I were going to choose between Michelle Malkam and Ann Coulter vs. Lara Logan and Christiane Amanpour, I choose the later. There is no contest.

The women in Democratic politics are beauties both inside and out. Jackie Onassis was a trend setter and gorgeous. Her daughter Caroline is not only beautiful, but politically savvy like JFK. Maria Shriver is now 1st Lady of California, but she used to be a journalist.

Lady Bird Johnson left each place she lived more beautiful than she found it. She planted gardens all over the capital and started the Wildflower Center in Austin. She also was the force behind the hike and bike trails around Town Lake which was renamed Lady Bird Lake after she passed away in 2007.

Ann Richards was a force to be reckoned with. Her picture on the front of Texas Monthly in a white fringed leather suit on a white motorcycle is the way that many will always remember her. Her famous midnight inspections of nursing homes, led to more beautiful places for seniors to live.

Elizabeth Edwards showed the world the way to make it through cancer. She did it with grace and beauty and strength.

Michelle Obama does it all. She is super mom to her daughters, she is a super attorney, and she helps her husband on the campaign trail. Yet she stays slim enough to go without sleeves or pantyhose.

Liz Kuccinich is gorgeous by just about anyone's standards. But all anyone can think when they see her with her husband Dennis is, "How did he get her?"

Whether you love country, rock, blues, jazz or classical, there are beautiful liberal women to fill the bill.

so, the highly anticipated "sex and the city" movie version finally opened in the u.s. over the weekend... my friend's friend did the trailer for the movie version, and despite what he said and all the mixed/bad reviews, nothing seems to stop fans of satc for supporting their favorite girls! it's like visiting old friends... with about 80 wardrobe changes, and storyline ending that satisfied most fans, you could almost see all the ladies leaving the theater with big smiles (and guys have walked out of the theater less than half way through the movie). ;D wardrobe-wise, my favorite part got to be during the vogue magazine spread photo shoot. (hehe few of you will know why :p) my favorite awww-moment in the movie was a friendship scene between carrie and miranda...

xoxo...happy month of june, dear friends! ^-^/ take a little time and do something fun for your soul this weekend... ;)

Sex and the City star Cynthia Nixon takes on Politics in designer sandals.

Shown here standing on stage as she receives riotous applause at the Gay and Lesbian Community "Get Out The Vote" Center.

Ms. Nixon expressed her support for Presidential candidate Barack Obama and answered questions about her favorite designers, her take on the Presidential debates and what it means to be a celebrity stepping into the realm of Politics...

A strong show of support for the democratic candidate was followed by a Q&A session with the audience and numerous interviews with the local press. Although Ms. Nixon admits that this is her first time publicly supporting a political candidate, attendees commented that she was "brilliant", "funny" and "inspiring" and departed from the event with optimistic smiles.

Ms. Nixon is lesbian and played the role of a work-aholic attorney named Miranda on the hit HBO series.
