The well-known Lattice Covered Bridge is a wooden covered bridge located at the start of the Eramosa River Trail near the Guelph Lawn Bowl in Guelph, and serves as a pedestrian and cyclist crossing for the Speed River. It was erected in1992 with the help of 400 volunteers. The bridge was constructed using building designs from the 1800s, and is one of only two lattice-covered bridges in Ontario. RVYC was formed in 1903 as the Vancouver Yacht Club, receiving its Royal Warrant in 1906.
[...]. Our Coal Harbour home port is nestled into the shores of Stanley Park, a stone's throw from the cycling path, park trails, and downtown Vancouver - our floating restaurant there, the Mermaid Inn serves breakfast and lunch daily. The vistas over the bay from the Star & Dragon patio or the Marine Lounge's Upper Deck have given us the nickname of having the best view in Vancouver. www.royalvan.com/about

18/12/2015; Now I know there are followers among you that prefer my canal shots to be without ships. Most of the time, I am waiting for these ships to come, but over here I actually would have to wait for a long time to have 30 seconds of me time with the canal alone, because the ships kept on coming. Not that I mind these ships being in this shot though... :)

14/12/2016; December 14th 2016, it was supposed to be another evening in which the supermoon was going to be around. I even rented a telezoom lens for the idea that I had at the Ransdorper Toren, where the supermoon should have risen in the background.
For starters, I unfortunately completely underestimated the distance I needed for the telezoom lens to work (I was half a kilometer away from the tower, however I could still count the bricks at 200mm, let alone at 500mm...), and then depsite the weather forecast saying it was going to brighten up during the day, that sadly did not happen in an eastern to northeastern direction. Not to mention the fog that was around, making the tower barely to not visible from a distance in which I could have used the telezoom lens the way I wanted...
So all and all, I made this photo with my regular 16-85mm lens, that I carried with me just in case things were going wrong with the 200-500mm lens. Managed to get the tower and its reflection without any barriers (there was this farmer's bridge right behind me here) perfectly at 85mm, but at least I learned to not go hunting for the moon anymore when there's even the slightest chance of clouds. And that when the weather predicts bright conditions, I should go up somewhere high to prevent barriers from ruining my ideas.

16/02/2018; I went to Kinderdijk last weekend with the intention to shoot the sunrise, however unfortunately it was hopelessly cloudy on the very early Saturday morning.
Luckily I was there the afternoon and evening before already, as I had booked an Airbnb, and I have made some nice captures that prevented me from going home empty handed.

This picture was shot with a dirt cheap ten year old Fuji compactcamera. It's really amazing how the old analogue camera's handle difficult lighting situations like this. The dynamic range is still much better than current digital compacts. No post-processing in this picture!

While this pic is from some weeks ago, it felt appropriate for today.
It felt as if it was a warm spring day along the coast today. Tiny birds were fluttering and singing; butterflies were doing paired air dances and the sky was warm and clear. More of this please.
2020.09.08 a gritty urban grafitti filled bike bridge that leads to a long stretch over a busy highway.. not as threatening in reality as it looks although a homeless guy was sleeping on a bench in a sleeping bag behind me.. I was trying to be a silent as I could so I wouldn't wake him.

28/02/2015; My introduction to steelwool swinging, and it sure tasted like more. Credits go to Ardi for swinging the steelwool.
To finally give you a tip, if you want to try this out yourself; you are working with something burning after all, so especially the first couple of times, you might want to take some precautions.
Wear old cotton clothes or an overall/jumpsuit, for starters, so you won't get burning holes in your newest gear. Wear a baseball cap and/or a hoodie to cover up your head, so your hair won't go on fire from runaway sparks. ;) And perhaps you might want to wear safety glasses and some sturdy boots too.
06/08/2011; So much for Bad Arolsen and Landau, time to head a bit more south in Germany, to the city of Karlsruhe. And there's definitely no lack of trams in Karlsruhe, had plenty of LE fun with them. Also in this SOOC shot. :)
