APOLOGIES.!!! I see there is still a problem with my comments disappearing on Flickr.
There is a rookery in of all places, the middle of Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. And this is where I was on Mother's Day taking this shot.
When I first saw the nest, it was just Mom and a ball of fur. That ball didn't move for the longest time. I honestly didn't know if it was alive. I drifted off for awhile but when I returned, it was moving and two little heads popped up.
Eventually what I saw is this scene in front of you now.
The Impala (Aepyceros melampus) is a medium-sized antelope found in eastern and southern Africa. It is a swift-running antelope, the most abundant ruminant in the savannas of eastern and southern Africa. It is often seen in large breeding herds closely shepherded by a territorial male. The impala can be described as perfection in an antelope; it is both beautiful and athletic - a world-class high jumper. Having no close relatives, it is placed in its own tribe, Aepycerotini, of the family Bovidae.
The impala is found in woodlands and sometimes on the interface (ecotone) between woodlands and savannahs; it inhabits places close to water.
This very cute female Impala was captured on a Photography safari during an early morning game drive in Nairobi National Park, Kenya.
We were at Santa clause party yesterday which was hosted by my company and took some pictures that I thought it’s worth sharing 😀 this in Toronto
The Sykes monkey (Cercopithecus albogularis) also known as the white-throated monkey or Samango monkey, is found in central and eastern Africa, and down into southern Africa. They live in evergreen forests, including rainforest, swamp, and coastal forest areas. They are widespread, but their overall numbers are decreasing in unprotected areas due loss of habitat.
The Sykes Monkey was photographed sitting at the Makoyeti Picnic Site, Nairobi National Park, Kenya.
Thomson's gazelle (Eudorcas thomsonii) is one of the best-known gazelles and is sometimes referred to as a "tommy". Thomson's gazelles can be found in numbers exceeding 550,000 in Africa and are recognised as the most common type of gazelle in East Africa. The Thomson's gazelle can reach speeds of 80-90 km/h. It is the fifth-fastest land animal, after the cheetah, its main predator.
Thomson’s Gazelles have slender legs and a short, black tail which is constantly in motion swinging back and forth like a window blade wiper. They have large ears and eyes and a narrow muzzle. Their heads are small and they have a lightweight body which enables them to run fast and make sharp turns. To make up for their vulnerability out on the plains, gazelles have an excellent sense of hearing which makes them exceptionally alert to sounds. They also have excellent smell and sight which is their main source of communicating with each other.
This very cute looking Thompson's Gazelle was captured during a photography safari on an early morning game drive in the Maasai Mara Game Reserve, Kenya.

The spotted hyena (Crocuta crocuta), also known as the laughing hyena, is a hyena species, currently classed as the sole extant member of the genus Crocuta, native to sub-Saharan Africa.
The spotted hyena is a highly successful animal, being the most common large carnivore in Africa. Its success is due in part to its adaptability and opportunism; it is primarily a hunter but may also scavenge, with the capacity to eat and digest skin, bone and other animal waste. In functional terms, the spotted hyena makes the most efficient use of animal matter of all African carnivores. The spotted hyena displays greater plasticity in its hunting and foraging behaviour than other African carnivores; it hunts alone, in small parties of 2-5 individuals or in large groups. During a hunt, spotted hyenas often run through ungulate herds in order to select an individual to attack. Once selected, their prey is chased over a long distance, often several kilometres, at speeds of up to 60 km/h.
This very cute Spotted Hyena pup was captured on Photography Safari during a late evening game drive in the Maasai Mara National Reserve, Kenya.
