A flip-up section of countertop reveals a shallow drawer and a vanity mirror. The front piece may also be flipped down, and the drawer pulled out.

The garland under the cabinets is new this year. After Christmas last year, I found these frosty blue, turquoise and lime green ornaments for 75% off and bought two boxes. They were perfect for the scrapbook room.
The west end of the room prior to renovation. We had painted the old paneling years before and that helped brighten the room, but it was due for some major work. During the build, the west window was removed and the hole covered to make room for cabinets. The window on the left (south facing) became the window I sit at while working at the scrapbook counter. This end of the room was used by DS#2 as a bedroom while he was in college. My scrapbooking area was on the smaller east end.
