The Volvo PV is a series of two-door, four-passenger car models — the PV444 and the PV544 — made by Volvo from 1947 to 1966. During World War II's early stages, Volvo decided that a new, smaller car that could deliver good fuel economy would assure the company's future. A raw materials shortage during the war drove home the point that an automobile should be smaller, and also complicated Volvo's ability to mass-produce the product. In 1944, when the car was finally introduced to a car-hungry public, response was very positive and orders poured in from the Swedish population. It was another three years though, until 1947, before series production began.
The PV quickly earned a reputation for being strong and rugged, although the design was considered outdated from early on. The PV also competed successfully, in the American SCCA class but also internationally, with a second-hand PV544 memorably winning the Safari Rally in 1965.

Prince Bertil Memorial takes place each year in Stockholm, Sweden, in honour of Prince Bertil, uncle to Sweden's King Carl XVI Gustaf. The Prince was a race-car driver in the 1930s, using the pseudonym "Monsieur Adrian" to placate his disapproving father, later King Gustaf VI Adolf. Prince Bertil continued to act in the monarchy's best interests by forgoing marriage to his British girlfriend, Lilian Craig. Under Swedish law, which has since been changed, such a union with a commoner would have rendered him ineligible to serve as regent, should the need have arisen, to Carl Gustaf, son of Prince Bertil's deceased older brother. The Prince finally married the patient Lilian in 1976, three years after nephew Carl Gustaf was safely on the throne.

It is only 12 days now until we leave for the UK. This is my new camera bag with the camera gear I will be taking with me. I am taking my 5D MK II, Canon 28-300 L series lens, Canon 17-35 L series lens, Tamron 90 mm macro lens, memory cards, charger, USB sticks etc and it still weighs under the 7 kg allowance that most airlines allow. This trip is not a worry though as we are travelling British Air and they allow 23 kg carry on luggage which is a bonus. I bought an ultra light weight bag - 1.4 kg and took it to Clark Rubber where they cut some foam to fit the gear I will be taking. I think it turned out very well and I am so happy with it.
I spoke to my brother this afternoon and he said he is doing fine - just a little tired. The operation went well.

I had to go to the new hospital in Malvern this week for a test. When I came out I realised that I wasn't very far away from Morgan's visitor centre. So I decided to go and ask them if I could photograph some Morgans. I've never been brave enough to do anything like that before, and I didn't know if they would let me, but straight away the young lady on reception said 'yes'. She had to go and get the keys and unlock the showroom for me. There were two Morgans there, this one and a cream one. Both were hand made and custom built to the preference of each customer and sitting there waiting for their new owners to come and collect them. I asked the young lady how much they cost and she said £45,000!
Thank you to everyone who's expressed good wishes about the hospital test I had. I'm hopeful that the results will be good. I think the consultant just wanted to be thorough but is expecting a good result. I probably won't know until I see him in August!

Great combination of one of our customers attending a show. Truck was build from Truck T19 Building Experience Kit. For the trailer Building Instructions have been used, color was changed to match the truck. For both builds chromed parts have been applied.
