The Custom House in Dublin, with the Spire and Liberty House alongside, from the south side of the Liffey.

The UMP from my preset guide. Tried to use common and easy techniques to help demonstrate to newcomers how to make a custom weapon, while still customizing as much of the gun as possible.

Alright, after about a week and a half from my original preview, Amon is done! He was delayed due to a few things.

1) Pure laziness.

2) XBOX.

3) I was working on a "build". It's not a scene, nor a vehicle, but an animal. And it's not done yet.

Anyway, the picture in the corner is another upcoming figure of mine. Hopefully he'll be done in a week this time, but no promises. Hint: The figure'll have a lot of moxy. Also, I couldn't think of a good way to do Amon's legs, so they're heavily based off of MGF Customs's Amon. www.flickr.com/photos/michaelmgf/7188844837/in/photostream

EDIT: Anyone who watched the finale, you know IMAD...

I thought she looked real creepy without any face-paint.

I've always wondered what my custom LEGO train kits would look like as a "proper" retail product.

I've been selling instructions for these custom kits for a couple of years online at my website brickdimensions.com. Inevitably, I am often asked "how much does it cost with the bricks?" or "can you sell me the bricks?" etc. I've been reluctant to sell these models as complete kits with the bricks, stickers, etc. due to the labour involved and low volume. However, someone did persist with a substantial offer to buy several kits and I decided to give it a try.

This gave me the opportunity to go through process and identify the true impact on time and energy required to fulfill an order. I spent some time automating the Bill of Materials consolidation, fetching pricing, and making Bricklink orders and developed a set of Google sheets with custom scripts to help me with future procurement.

Having gone through the process, it does take more time than I would have liked. However, the lessons learned from this experience should make future kit-ups much faster.

As much as I would like there to be a market for custom LEGO train kits, I am not convinced that it is big enough to make commercial sense. I would love to be proven wrong--but at least I had fun "prototyping" what such a product offering would look like!

With my father having spent his working life with HM Customs (pre-merger with Inland Revenue), I have long photographed customs houses wherever I have found them. This one in Orkney would have been unfamiliar to him, but of the places where he was permanently attached, those in Grimsby and Hull (several) have either been repurposed or demolished.

Yeah!!!!! Huge kudos to my hubby for helping me drive around town today for Luka, the Travelling Blythe photos. She has to leave tomorrow morning & I hadn't been able to get her out & about town.

Anyway, we live in Bristol, Tennessee, USA. Our town is kind of special because it splits between two states. You can drive down the main road downtown one way & be in Virginia. Then turn around & drive back on the Tennessee side.

Bristol has different political positions for each side. Two different police stations that work separately, but the city promotes itself as one place.

This sign has been up in our town since 1921. It reads "Bristol VA-TN - A Good Place to Live"

I'll be uploading more Luka shots a little at a time today & tomorrow in honor of this little visitor. I'm so sad to let her go!
