It's a sausage, cut into rounds and deep-fried, then dusted with curry powder and served with fries. The beer is a necessity, as well.
One thing I can't understand about Europe is their continued obsession with curry powder. Is it really such a big thing nowadays? I don't get it. In this case, I can't complain, but most of the time I can.
Ok. I had no preconceptions of German food but now I can honestly say currywurst is indeed the wurst.
Currywurst is the National dish of Germany, stands like this can be found all over. It is basically a sausage with either curry sauce or curry powder on it. A 'Berliner' is a the sausage without the curry. So when U.S. President John F. Kennedy famously said "Ich bin ein Berliner" June 26, 1963 he said that he was a sausage!
