... for a Peaceful Blue Monday!
Some days all you want to do is curl up in a corner and disappear. But is it solving anything ? It helps regroup, it feels good for a moment. Then you stand up.
One foot after the other...

Taken for Macro Mondays group. This weeks theme is
"From The Top - shot taken directly above."
I bought some pretty tulips at the store last week. I went with yellow and pink (my fave) because I thought they'd be perfect for Easter which is coming soon. As I stood over them with my camera I noticed off on the right side the perfect curled leaf so I decided to focus in on that for my macro shot. Have a great week everyone and HMM!
We're still self-isolating at home. Take care, you all. :)

Ivory curl flower, Buckinghamia celsissima. This species is a tree native to rainforests in Queensland where it may reach 100m in height. These flowers are from a street tree in Sydney, Australia, that is only about 3.5m tall.
The flowers look superficially like spider flowers, Grevillea sp. Buckinghamia like Grevillea is in the family Proteaceae.
Please view large.
Thanks to everyone who has visited.
I appreciate very much the kind comments and faves which have been left.
This is a double exposure, taken with Oreston 50mm f1.8 and 12mm extension tube.
Ferns are in our back yard...
Have a wonderful day/night everyone.

Mallard (Anas platyrhynchos platyrhynchos) - 20230511-01
A large duck, generally common and familiar within its extensive range. Males are distinctive with iridescent green head, yellow bill, chestnut breast, and gray body. Females are mottled brown with orange and black splotches on the bill. Found anywhere with water, including city parks, backyard creeks, and various wetland habitats. Often in flocks, and frequently mixes with other duck species. In North America, females can be tricky to distinguish from American Black Duck, Mottled Duck, and Mexican Duck where ranges overlap. Those species are all darker-bodied than Mallard. A good view of the wing can be helpful, too: white wingbars on the leading and trailing edges of the blue wing patch are bolder on Mallard. Frequently hybridizes with those species, which can be even more confusing. Any bird with extensive white in the tail or curled feathers above the tail has some Mallard genes. (eBird)

I had the distinct feeling that I was being watched, even though I could not see another soul along the wide open trail, except for my husband. Scanning the reeds and shrubs for a bear or other mammal, I finally locked eyes with this well-hidden mallard. He never moved - just watched us with a rather unnerving intensity :-)

Inspired by #MacroMondays and theme #Curves. I learn quite a bit from this group by researching a word or theme. And discussing themes with my husband. For this theme, he first brought me an old set of French curves, templates used in his physics class.
These are tiny wood shavings he also thought I might use. I popped them into my soft box, used natural sunlight, and felt delighted with the little curls and curves. I hope you like them.
Width of the frame left to right measures less than 4cm/1.57 inches.

I was struck by the shape of these vibrant clouds which were reflecting the colours of the setting sun.
