This is a plant that I saw in a local nursery one day. I have no idea what it is, but I really liked the shapes and textures of the leaves.

Currently you can experience the peak of the vine leaf coloring in the Ahr Valley. The color red is rare because it is related to a specific grape variety, namely the "Dyer Grape", which is cultivated to give red wine a darker color through admixture.
Pampas grass (Cortaderia selloana) is a weed of temperate, sub-tropical and occasionally semi-arid regions that prefers damp places, such as wetlands, swamps and stream banks. It also grows in disturbed sites, waste areas, bushland, open woodlands, grasslands, coastal environs, forestry plantations and along roadsides. It is cultivated as a garden ornamental in southern and eastern Australia, though legislation has reduced its popularity in some regions. A widely distributed species that is naturalised mainly in the southern parts of Australia. It is most commonly found throughout Tasmania, in southern and central Victoria, in the ACT, in south-western Western Australia, and in the coastal and sub-coastal regions regions of central New South Wales. Also present in south-eastern South Australia and south-eastern Queensland and possibly naturalised on Norfolk Island. Infestations are common near the capital cities in most states. 53945
The cultivated fields now crossed by the railway are the forerunners of the fertile valleys that surround Cuzco.
Lovely variegated leaves. The Ethiopian banana is a close relative of the dessert banana (cultivars of Musa acuminata). However, as much as it looks like a 'regular' banana plant, the Ethiopian banana is not cultivated for its fruits, but rather for its vegetative parts. In southern and south-western Ethiopia, the starch-rich pseudostems and underground organs serve millions of people as a staple food, similar to potatoes elsewhere. In tropical and subtropical gardens the Ethiopian banana is a popular ornamental, producing very large 'banana leaves' marked by a conspicuous purple to purplish-brown midrib. A spectacular architectural plant, in Britain this species can be grown in containers to afford temperate gardens a tropical flair in summer. 22437
Although cultivated Monterey Cypress trees can be found in many places, the only two surviving groves of wild Monterey Cypress trees live on the Monterey Peninsula. The oldest surviving trees are 2000 years in age. They are the remnants of what was once a large forest on the central coast of California.
The trees in this image are in Point Lobos State Park.
Happy Tree Tuesday! Thanks, as always, for stopping by and for your kind comments, awards and faves -- I appreciate them all. Take care and stay safe!

In my garden. La Ceja, Colombia; Central Andes, 2300 meters above sea level.
The Rufous-tailed Hummingbird is a medium-sized hummingbird. It has a distinctly rufous-colored tail, from which its named is derived, and a bright pink bill. Like other hummingbirds, it feeds on nectar and small insects. It can be highly territorial over feeding areas.
The Rufous-tailed Hummingbird is perhaps the most common species of hummingbird at forest edge and in gardens and cultivated areas from southern Mexico south to northwestern South America.

Cultivated by the Aztecs before Cortez’s arrival, introduced to Europe in 1784 and named after Andreas Dahl, a student of Carl Linnaeus, these Mexican and Central American natives have a fascinating past. Promising stylish pizazz for today’s landscape, the following new Dutch introductions stem from the widely popular “Bishop” series, which originated in the 1920s.
