I was out all day and had not posted my oxo cubes. Anyway having seen that others had done some good ones, just redone my shot.

As 3D beings inhabiting a three-dimensional world, our eyes, unfortunately, grant us access to only two dimensions. The depth we perceive is a clever illusion, a byproduct of evolution positioning our eyes on the front of our faces. However, when we place an object or scene within a glass cube, we catch a tantalizing glimpse of the third dimension. This subtle hint surprises and captivates our minds, endowing the object with even greater fascination. Yet, it is also an illusion.

Cube and rotation : Me

This cube, folded from a single square, is one of Shuzo Fujimoto’s most famous designs. Not only is the model very firm, but the folding sequence is a masterpiece in itself. I knew the model from pictures before, but only after folding it myself did I come to fully appreciate it.

The Cube 36 is a three-dimensional puzzle. It consists of a base plus 36 colored towers. The towers come in six different colors and six different heights. The goal is to place all towers onto the base with each of the six colors appearing once in each row and column. All towers should have the same level at the end.

Solution:

if the base had the six different heights of the towers once in each row and column there would be no solution. So the puzzle can only be solved by a trick.

Two towers are different from the others of the same height and will fit on certain parts of the base they normally won't fit on.

This subtle modification leads in fact to 96 solutions.

Never the less, it will drive you crazy to find the start. If you once found it, it's easy.

I copied others and lay underneath the cube of lights that moved with the retro 80's music. A pretty awe inspiring display of light and vision. At times the cube appeared to breathe.

Cube houses are a set of innovative houses built in Rotterdam and Helmond in the Netherlands, designed by architect Piet Blom and based on the concept of "living as an urban roof": high density housing with sufficient space on the ground level, since its main purpose is to optimise the space inside.

The houses in Rotterdam are located on Overblaak Street, right above the Blaak metro station. The 1977 original plan showed 55 houses, but not all of them were built. There are 38 small cubes and two so called 'super-cubes', all attached to each other.

An urban architecture shot of the famous Cube House in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

Made up of about 100 real sugar cubes, not glued or anything. These sugar cubes are actually called light because they supposed to have 50% less calories. Inside the cube I placed a 5W light bulb. Shot with my new Olympus 12-60mm 1:2.8-4 lens.
