The curious growth patter of some desert plant life in the arid environment of Kodachrome Basin State Park, Utah. The lumpy surrounding soil is quite crips and is called "crypto-biotic" soil. It is the product of living organisms in the soil, and takes decades or even a hundred years to form. So watch your step, because it is crushed in one footfall.

Auf der Suche nach einem neuen Foto Motiv besuchte ich den Grugapark in Essen. Mich begeisterte die spannende Deckenkonstruktion in einem Gebäude.
Ich dachte, das wäre ein weiteres großartiges Motiv für ein Street Art Bild.
Es entstand das Problem, die Deckenkonstruktion spannend darzustellen.
Testete mehrerlei Möglichkeiten, Abschnitte und Strecken zu der Deckenkonstruktion aus. Fotografierte dann die Deckenkonstruktion in scharf / unscharf.
Dann der Konflikt der Darstellung der Fotografie. Deckenkonstruktion ganz Darstellen oder einen Ausschnitt.
Fotografie digital bearbeitet.
Im Prozess der digitalen Bearbeitung gesehen, dass ich auf einem positiven Weg bin.
Am Ende ein digital gemaltes Crypto-Art Bild entstanden, mit dem ich zufrieden bin.

Looking for a new photo motif, I visited the Grugapark in Essen. I was fascinated by the exciting ceiling construction in a building.
I thought this would be another great subject for a street art image.
The problem arose of depicting the ceiling construction in an exciting way.
Tested out several different options, sections and routes for the ceiling construction. Then photographed the ceiling construction in sharp/out of focus.
Then there is the conflict of the representation of photography. Show the entire ceiling construction or a section.
Photography digitally edited.
In the process of digital editing I saw that I was on a positive path.
In the end, a digitally painted crypto art picture was created that I am happy with.

This is a crypt that was buried deep under an old church in Rome. I can assure everyone that this is one spot I was NOT supposed to be, and certainly NOT with a camera, and definitely NOT supposed to be listening on my iPod to 80's pop tunes.

The FTX Arena (formerly known as American Airlines Arena) is a sports and entertainment multi-purpose arena located in Miami, Florida, along Biscayne Bay. It was constructed beginning in 1998 as a replacement for the Miami Arena and designed by the architecture firms Arquitectonica and 360 Architecture. The arena is home to the Miami Heat of the National Basketball Association.
The FTX Arena is directly served by the Miami Metrorail at Government Center station via free transfers to Metromover Omni Loop, providing direct service to Freedom Tower and Park West stations. The Arena is also within walking distance from the Historic Overtown/Lyric Theatre Metrorail station.
The FTX Arena has 2,105 club seats, 80 luxury suites, and 76 private boxes. The Waterfront Theater is Florida's largest theater which is housed within the arena, that can seat between 3,000 and 5,800. The theater can be configured for concerts, family events, musical theatre, and other stage shows. American Airlines which has a hub at Miami International Airport maintains the FTX Arena Travel Center at the venue.
In September 2019, it was reported that the arena would have a new name in 2020. In March 2021, FTX Crypto Exchange, a bitcoin exchange platform, acquired the naming rights to the arena for $135 million. The NBA approved the deal in early April, and the arena was fully renamed FTX Arena in June 2021.

Baćinska jezera (Baćina lakes), Croatia.
The Baćina lakes (Baćinska jezera) are located in Dalmatia, Croatia. They are named after the town of Baćina close to the port city of Ploče. The lakes are part of a beautiful landscape and surrounded by mounts. They are situated between Makarska and Dubrovnik. It is a crypto-depression lake, with its bottom below the surface of the sea.
The seven lakes cover an area of 138 hectares and they are named Oćuša (the largest), Crniševo (the deepest: 34 m), Podgora, Sladinac, Vrbnik, Šipak and Plitko. Six of these lakes are linked. The lakes are connected with the sea and at times the water can be brackish.

Did I mention that I forgot to put a CF card in my camera when I went to D.C.? No? I did. Still, it could have been worse. I could have missed my plane as a result of my wallet falling out of my bag onto the car seat without my noticing (I drove to the subway to park and take the train to the airport, and left my wallet there in the dark. Fortunately I had enough time to come back for it).
Anyway, all that to explain that Rachel very kindly lent me her CF card for the weekend, but due to limited space on that card there will be very few -- maybe only a dozen -- pictures from D.C. So savor them, as strange as some of them (naming no names) might be.
