I love Alan Moore’s art and all his books. It happens that I work in a print shop and more than three years ago I copied a picture of the angel from The Moon and Serpent Grand Egyptian Theatre of Marvels CD covers onto poster material. It came out really good so I hang it above my desk. And then a little while later when I am at work I feel raindrops on my head. This is inside my apartment and it rains on me! The fact that this really happens kind of freaks me out. In fact I felt a need to tell all my friends about it. Enough to say it was truly a weird moment. Since then I have rationalised that what happened maybe was due to a hole in my ceiling and or some leak in the water system or freaky condensation. But look at the poster now? What a weird result. The angel displays clear signs of stigmata. The symmetry is perfect! The straight lines down at the bottom are suggestive of writing. Reminds me a bit of Hebrew or Arabic or cuneiform but I cannot decipher the alphabet. It was positively a genuine mystical experience and more so because the tears of the angel fell and hit two of my grimoires. In my mind I am quietly amazed. I just thought I share these images of the angel with you.

Oligosoma inconspicuum.

This skink was sunbathing amongst flax leave, though he's giving me a filthy look!

Quite a dark specimen, which I initally thought was a On. polychroma, as the dorsal stripe goes all the way down the tail unbroken.

Some sort of street level advertising; these posters were plastered over street poles; post boxes; and other surfaces all over downtown Toronto today.

i'm kind of obsessed at the moment with printing pictures off, doing stuff to them and scanning them back in

A German Expressionist puppeteer. Yes that's a thing. Don't look at me like that.

This camera had a horrible problem with noise at even moderate iso. I turned that weakness into a strength by using it to create an old timey look in these photos of a german expressionist style surreal puppetry performance at a vintage event.

These images are best viewed in the resolutions 500 to 1024.

Well, it isn't that cryptic... Just an explanation that Jakob Fugger (yes, of those those incredible rich guys from the middle ages) lived and worked in this house

At a quick glance you could easily mistake these pollen munching flies as some sort of hymenoptera (bees and wasps), but trust me they most definitely belong to the diptera (flies and mosquitoes). They arrived in large numbers shortly after I put these flowers on my window ledge. I have been trying to catch the zippy little fellas in mid-flight, but I think I may be pushing my abilities and those of my trusty little P&S to the limit with that one. Stay tuned though, I might get lucky yet!
