Unfortunately boarded up premises are a very common sight in the town these days. This view was taken from 'The Spreadeagle' pub. The piece of artwork on the right is called 'Hometown' by artist Otto Schade.

I took this shot when I was fourteen in 1967 on a Praktica Nova B, so it's real Smog over Croydon!! Just to add this was taken with Kodak Ektachrome transparency, film. I recently found this stock and converted it + think I had a135mm lens + 2x converter. The only remaining focal point that remains in the shot is the chimmey that that marks where the IKEA store is now...

After 8 years of endless slog on the 289 working out of Thornton Heath Garage (TH), Arriva's ENX31 finally gets a change of scene on the 166 to Banstead following its transfer to South Croydon Garage (TC).
The weather was perfect for me this afternoon. Cool, low himidity, nice breeze, some clouds so I don't bake in the sun constantly... it was a great way to spend my lunch break. I wanted to photograph some deer, but unfortunately I didn't see any at my usual haunts, so I did a little landscape photography.

Frontage of Allders department store in Croydon founded in 1862 and closed 2015 - it became a multistore mart for a few years and then shut altogether, bought by Croydon Council - it was an early casualty of the high street - the facade however great
The group at one time operated 40 department stores under the Allders name
