I made this for my sister this weekend. She graduated from Indiana University with two degrees in art back in december, but it was a 4 hour drive for us and i wasn't a huge fan of the idea of transporting a cake that long of a distance. so i made it up to her when she came up for a visit :). chocolate mud cake with cookies 'n cream filling. basic instructions on my blog. www.thefrostedcakencookie.blogspot.com

With these hands I cannot defile you, They are to lift you, My sister!
With these words I cannot demean you
They are to encourage you and comfort you, My Sister!
With this strength I cannot destroy you
It is to defend you, My Sister!
With this heart, I cannot reject you
It is to love, My Sister!

Each year all the Chapters in Northern California convene to formally celebrate our Founders Day. On January 13, 1913, 22 courageous women founded our organization on the campus of Howard University. Today we have over 200K members who continue to uphold the ideals and principles of our 22 founders. This celebration is held in a different city each year in our Region and is hosted by the local Chapter in that city. This year we celebrate our 100th Founders Day in Monterey, California. Following on the heels of the celebration that took place in Washington DC last weekend we had a turnout of 400 members. Our keynote speaker for our luncheon on Saturday was one of own (who hails from our region), our 17th Past National President, Ms. Mona Humphries Bailey. It was an awesome weekend. I left inspired, encouraged and reignited to continue to do public service in our communities as a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.

Well baby Amari has finally arrived. Mommy, daddy and baby are doing great. I was so happy my Soror allowed me to practice my maternity shots with her. It was a great learning experience for me.
The graduate and her biggest supporters. Little do they know they are her motivation and inspiration.
