I saw this eagle in the "eagle tree" at Crete's Farm. Along came and osprey who sent the eagle flying off into another tree. Then the osprey flew around the pond a bit making some noise. The eagle then flew from the small tree and circled right over me! Luckily, I had my 500mm on the camera - at one point the eagle was almost out of the frame it was so close! I cropped the transmitter shot - others are right out of the camera.

From Chris Martin/Sr Biologist with NH Audubon: The transmittered eagle that you saw is almost certainly a bird hatched at Merrymeeting Marsh in 2010 that I banded Black A/U left leg and have been following via satellite transmitter #79607 since June 2010. The attached map shows that Black A/U has spent a lot of time on the Merrimack below Franklin, but the transmitter's batteries finally gave out in July 2012, so this is the first news we've had since then. Nice to know he's still alive!
