I had never seen a Great Crested Flycatcher until this one flew into a tree in front of my house on May 22nd. What an exciting, delightful event! According to what I've found online, this bird is a tree top dweller that is rarely seen on the ground. I'm grateful that it stayed long enough on this visit to strike different poses as it watched for flying insects. I still occasionally hear its distinctive call; but, so far, it has been high up in trees farther from the house and I've been unable to spot it.

Double-crested Cormorant
From Cornell:
Double-crested Cormorants are the most widespread cormorant in North America, and the one most frequently seen in freshwater. They breed on the coast as well as on large inland lakes. They form colonies of stick nests built high in trees on islands or in patches of flooded timber.
Double-crested Cormorants are large waterbirds with small heads on long, kinked necks. They have thin, strongly hooked bills, roughly the length of the head. Their heavy bodies sit low in the water.

This adult Crested Goshawk, along with its companion, has been raising a brood of two on another tree nearby. With the fledgling chicks gradually turning into juveniles beginning to flap their wings and hopping from branch to branch, their parents are leaving their nest more frequently. This adult happens to be landing right in front of me, checking out its surroundings.

Wikipedia: The crested goshawk (Accipiter trivirgatus) is a bird of prey from tropical Asia. It is related to other diurnal raptors such as eagles, buzzards (or buteos) and harriers, and thus placed in the family Accipitridae.
The crested goshawk breeds in southern Asia, from India and Sri Lanka to southern China, Indonesia, Taiwan, and the Philippines. It is primarily a lowland bird, and an all-year resident. Even in upland habitat it is resident in winter, for example in the Himalayas foothills of Bhutan or in Sal (Shorea robusta) forest in India's Dehradun district. In these lands at the northern end of its range, it is generally very rare however. Essentially it is limited to tropical and warm subtropical areas. In Malaysia and Singapore there is increasing evidence of this species adapting to life in urban centers.
Conservation status: Least Concern
Originally saw this bird sitting on a high pole and after awhile it flew off, was able to capture a few flight shots. Taken in Sarasota Florida.

A stocky pigeon with a conspicuous thin black crest. Wavy black barred wing markings, and in certain lighting, bronzed green/purple wing patches edged in white. If startled, this pigeon takes to the air with a characteristic whistling flight, and glides with down turned wings. The whistling sound is produced by the air passing over a modified primary feather on the wing. Upon landing, the pigeon swings its tail high in the air.
The Red-crested Turaco is a fairly large, colorful, long-tailed regal bird. It is easily identified by its vivid red crest, white face and yellow beak. Eyes are red and the beak is yellowish-green. Its plumage is overall green. They measure 19 – 20 in (47.5-50 cm) from beak to tip of tail and weigh around 210-325g. Although they are social among the species, they are shy and remained concealed among the branches and seldom come to ground, except for water or food.

My first photo of a crested grebe this year.
My only spot for this bird is now a lake at 15km from my home.
Here it's hard to approach them.

The Crested Pigeon is a stocky pigeon with a conspicuous thin black crest. Most of the plumage is grey-brown, becoming more pink on the underparts. The wings are barred with black, and are decorated with glossy green and purple patches. The head is grey, with an pinkish-red ring around the eye. They are regular visitors in my yard where they come for the bird seed I scatter on the ground.
