The crescent moon was setting when the sky was crystal clear with no clouds. Although it looks like a black-and-white image, this picture was taken with the regular color settings.

I was happy to finally shoot a crescent moon with a foreground that is in focus. I think next time I will boost the shutter speed to get a crisper moon.

Just before the moon moved to obscure the sun at the annular solar eclipse that was viewed by thousands all over Singapore today. Another such eclipse will next appear in 2063, this is once in a life time witnessing for me..

quiet water and snow periods surround Crescent Beach.

I decided to stay on for another day on the Tasman Peninsula and awoke to the pitter patter of rain on the car roof. I took a drive to Basket Bay and proceeded to walk to Mount Brown. The rain had stopped but as I relaxed up on top I could see inclement weather all around me and was amazed in the 3 hours I was away it did not rain upon me !!.

I believe this to be a male Pearl Crescent (Phyciodes tharos) butterfly. Spotted sitting on a path in Bronte Creek Provincial Park durng a morning hike.

Sunlight gives color and warmth, Moonlight gives b/w and a chill.

The skinny Waxing Crescent Moon, January 23,2023 at about 6:15 this evening. The sun was just far enough below the horizon that the sky was a deep purple for the exposure values I had set. Two shot composite so I could get the moon and the tree in focus at the same time.

….Taken on Town Walls, The Crescent apartments have panoramic views looking down over the River Severn - they come ‘at a price’ I expect, though I’ve never seen a ‘For Sale’ sign on any!! Alan:-)
