Council’s new Places and Spaces initiative will bring new life to under-utilised spaces. While the initial focus is on the Queanbeyan CBD, Places and Spaces projects may pop up anywhere in the LGA.
The first activity was a pop-up shop at Shop 60 / 58 Monaro Street, officially launched at our laneway party in Blacksmiths Lane (located at the rear of The Q, leading towards Monaro Street, Queanbeyan).
These 'tasters' were to show that with a bit of effort and creativity, you can do new things and bring life to those areas that aren’t being used to their potential. We hope to see the community embrace this initiative and think about what they could do to activate a place or space.
The Pop-up Shop was open from Thursday 3 May to Thursday 10 May 2018.
We have documented the whole process from empty space to activated space to show the transformation!
