Number 7 of 61 "Have a Great Day!" doodles for the Index-Card-A-Day Challenge: Marker on 4"x6" white card.
I'm working with 2 different themes a day and gave myself the added challenge of spending no more than 3 minutes creating each card.
The first theme is "Visualize it Richly and Colorfully". That is exactly what my business aims to do and is also a key part of creativity.
The second series is really "happy mail" to be sent to critically ill children from the following organizations: Hugs and Hope, Post Pals, Caring Bridge, and Send Kids the World.

I'm not in pursuit of happiness, I'm happiness in pursuit; ready to happen everywhere I go.
~ Bernard Kelvin Clive
Although highly creative people can be quite deep and profound at times, they also tend to be rather light-hearted. A strong sense of humor, another key trait of the highly creative, allows them to see the humor in heavy situations. And their ability to see things from multiple perspectives and optimistic nature allows them to find and focus on the bright side of things.
Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.

Deep meaning lies often in childish play.

More and more research is being done these days about the benefits and importance of play for people of all ages. Through play, many creative discoveries are made. So it's no surprise that highly creative people are generally playful folks.
Almost all creativity involves purposeful play.
~ Abraham Maslow
There is no fear in play. No fear of failure, success, or being laughed at. This allows for a childlike freshness in thinking, which in turn, can lead to new insights and ideas.
Creativity involves a great deal of playing with ideas, and highly creative highly people value this playtime. They know the best ideas and solutions are often not hiding, just playing a game of peek-a-boo with them.
TeaQuest #2 – For days when pause feels powerful
A Reh has arrived. It lies still, posture relaxed but gaze steady. By its side: a cup of green tea, steeped just long enough to draw out its earthy clarity.
“Not all stillness is passive—sometimes it’s a choice to gather.”
For those with to-do lists longer than daylight: maybe slowing down is less about losing pace, more about claiming space.
I blend watercolor, pencil, and quiet rebellion. One spirit at a time, the TeaQuest continues.

TeaQuest – an illustration project for gentle beginnings
Lately, I’ve been drawing Tea Spirits: little animals with tea, mood, and message. One post each week—a thought, a mini quest for those with calendars bursting at the seams.
The idea sparked on a Monday that felt overwhelming. A relaxed fox with rooibos honey tea reminded me: “Not every day is about striving—some are for simply being found.”
I blend watercolor, pencils, and words. Let’s see how many Tea Spirits arrive—I’m following the tea and my sketching hand.

A mind is like a parachute. It does not work if it is not open.
~ Frank Zappa
Open-mindedness is a distinguishing feature of creativity because keeping an open mind is essential to thinking differently. An open mind allows for problems, challenges, and situations to be looked at from a lot of different perspectives. This allows for far deeper and broader understanding of the situation and facts. Those with an open mind are also more likely to let go of long-standing beliefs and thoughts if further examination reveals there are better ways of thinking.
Kids think with their brains cracked wide open; becoming an adult, I've decided, is only a slow sewing shut.
