DAY 3: The master of outdoor survival, Flash is the real-deal when it comes to pet cats. He was named Flash because when he first came around he would be present in a flash, then gone in another. This wild animal has withstood the test of time in the rough outdoor life. Graphic content in next paragraph.
Back in 2009, I was upstate and a gigantic raccoon had mauled this poor thing. Somehow Flash held his own during the fight but the raccoon ripped his neck open from top to bottom. Surprisingly enough, Flash didn't die on the spot nor from any infection. He looked sickly and thin for almost two years as he slowly healed from the fight. I videotaped the first time he ate food after the big fight; quite a gruesome sight.
Even today, his wound is not completely healed but his spirit is back 200% as he awaits the charitable handout of human food. I videotaped the first time he ate food after the big fight; quite a gruesome but also beautiful sight. Even though we're not friends, I feel somewhat of a camaraderie between myself and the cat based on his strength as a live and wild being. So, even though he's a cat, I am featuring him on Day 3.
Day 3/365.
Today we review a fantastic craft book from the 1970s that we found at our local $1 bookstore: crapatcrafts.com/?p=2032
A little HDR that I did for my Art Class. This is probably my favorite so far. I really tried to make sure I got the texture in the rock and to make sure the sky looked moody from the available light of the setting sun.

In honor of World Nutella Day, I went out to buy some Nutella (blasphemy that I did not already have it) and gave some to my little bobute. She usually eats black raspberry ice cream but since it was World Nutella Day I gave her Nutella ice cream. I got to have some of the leftovers too.
This is a scan of my second composite project. The original is now in Tampa. With Sean. Because he moved.
This is frowned upon.
(The moving bit, not the fact that the piece is with Sean.)

A 2 day workshop co-lead with Whitney Freya on manifesting our sacred symbols through meditation, free flow collaborative, creative exercises, visioning, play, paint and movement to learn new ways and new rituals to amplify your most authentic, wild self.
DAY 4: This clever little frog has taken his dance to the next level. I saw him today and he reminded me of how I feel when I'm photographing. More so, right after I've done an intensive photography session, some street photography, or a wedding. While pursuing professional photography is a personal choice, it's a choice based on this exact giddy-dance-upside-down kinda feeling.
If you take careful notice to the frog's background, you'll see a bystander penguin watching his moves.

DAY 2: Photographed in Cortlandt Manor, NY, this small portion of a MASSIVE antique camera collection is owned by my Dad's best friend. We take old camera models from here and toy with at Greene Street as we try to figure out the art of film.
Pictured here is the Ansco Flash Clipper. Ansco was the brand name of a photographic company based in Binghamton, New York, which produced photographic films, papers and cameras from the mid-1800s until the 1980s. Says Wikipedia; it also sold rebadged versions of cameras made by other manufacturers, including Agfa and Chinon. A Minolta-built Ansco model was the first 35mm camera in space!
