The Old Royal Naval College and Elstree Studios have made history, setting a new Guinness World Records™ title for the largest gathering of people dressed as film and TV characters. On Saturday 27th September, the UNESCO World Heritage Site in Greenwich was transformed into a dazzling real-life movie set as 874 fans arrived dressed as 45 iconic screen characters – from Queen Charlotte and Jack Sparrow to Luke Skywalker, Batman and Indiana Jones.

A story in hues, gentle and bold,
In twilight’s glow, new tales are made,
Petals unfold, a canvas painted with delight.
Donald Rodney: The Visceral Canker Exhibition opens from the 12th of February until the 4th of May 2025 at Whitechapel Gallery. His multimedia works, which include drawings, paintings, photography, animatronics and digital media, are on display from the late British artist Donald Rodney (1961-1998).
