"I think we all see the world from our own little unique bubble." ~ Julie Tavmor
Finally, we have some snow! Happy Sliders Sunday.

“On the shore of nature's magic, I dreamed summer
knew no end.”
- Angie Weiland Crosby This is a composite of two images I took. The first is an ICM image I took today on a very windy day. The waves were slapping the shores of Lake Huron and it was cold. The second image I took in the summer. I truly felt like we were finally saying goodbye to the beautiful summer like weather we have had for most of fall. The memories of the summer will motivate us to get through the cold until the next time. Happy Sliders Sunday!
On this morning, there was an orange glow to the sky before the sun actually came up. The mood on this lake was different on the two mornings we watched for the sunrise and then it changed dramatically over the half hour it took for the sun to come into view. I have several images depicting the mood over this island. This one I edited with an oil paint texture for Sliders Sunday. I also blended in a canoeist image I had in my files and birds for added interest.
"ANYONE CAN LOVE A ROSE, BUT IT TAKES A LOT TO LOVE A LEAF. IT'S ORDINARY TO LOVE THE BEAUTIFUL, BUT IT'S BEAUTIFUL TO LOVE THE ORDINARY." - MJ Konan
My roses were beautiful for such a long time. Then as they dried up they retained their shape. Since our club has the theme of Wabi Sabi, I took a few shots of them in that state before peeling away a couple of layers. That’s when the more vibrant colors appeared in the center layers. One of the dried up leaves fell off the stem as I was peeling the layers of the petals on the bloom, so I left it under the rose. For Sliders Sunday, I added a few effects to go with the quote. HSS
We had another day of snow falling soundlessly around us. There were white outs at times but I was comfortably inside enjoying a quiet day. Maybe tomorrow I will walk in the fresh snow and listen to the crunch each step makes. Happy Sliders Sunday.

For Looking Close... on Friday!'s #knots theme. A knot of barbed wire knots.
...at least I hope it's a knot. Definitely a tangle. And a certainly a twist or three. But pretty certain there's a knot in there, too...Honestly, I didn't want to get too close for fear of getting stuck and never getting away again.... :-) Hoping it's knotty and up-close enough.
Found on yesterday's outdoor exploration to the South Downs. And I fancied having a bit of fun with the edit. It started with a sort of vintagey vibe, but evolved into something that doesn't really have a description. :-(
The day kind of got away from me - thought it was still Saturday today. This is a recent photo with the sun trying unsuccessfully to push through the lower cloud base. There was just a hint of warm light in the clouds, which I emphasized to fit into the Sliders Sunday theme.
This was taken with my iPhone and then post editing done with the PS phone app. (Photo Shop camera app). I like to use my phone camera as a sketch book for compositional ideas to capture later. Happy Sliders Sunday!
We are in a quick thaw with our weather this weekend which creates some pretty big puddles around town. This is the ship Frontenac reflected in a puddle down by our harbour. I turned the image upside down and added just a bit of texture and other effects. Happy Sliders Sunday!
“See with one eye, feel with the other.” - Paul Klee. The beauty of playing around with sliders and editing is that you get to explore more how you feel about an image rather than just getting it technically right. Happy Sliders Sunday.
Birds were blown away by the currents from the wind and waves; engaged in the roller coaster ride. Footprints were blown away by the blasts of wind and wave ; erasing another moment in time. I was blown away by the raw power of the wind and waves; bringing life on the wild side to the rugged scene. - Lynn Reket
This is another scene from our trip to PEI this fall. I blended the image with a wood grain image I had in my files to create this composite with lots of textures. I think the lines in the wood grain gives more of a feel of movement to the image. Happy Sliders Sunday!
