‘Tanec’s triumphant appearance on American television, in the Ford Foundation ‘Omnibus’ programme on January 22, 1956 in New York City opened America’s doors to a wealth of Macedonian musical talent. What followed would be called a Musical Sensation. Macedonian National Ensemble for Folk Dances and Songs ‘Tanec’s performances at Carnegie Hall and at other famous concert halls were displays of tremendous skill, the likes of which North America had never seen before. Tale Ognenovski and other members of the Ensemble arrived as foreign ambassadors, but they received the warmest welcome and the most enthusiastic reception possible in North America. In their commentaries, the North American press gave such magnificent descriptions of the Ensemble’s performances that it could be concluded that Macedonia was the ‘centre of the folk universe’. During an 84-day journey throughout the United States and Canada Ensemble ‘Tanec’ travelled ten thousand kilometres and performed 66 concerts in 53 different towns. They were described as a Great Cultural Event by the American press, with articles appearing in The New York Times, The New York Daily Mirror, The New York Herald Tribune, The New York World Telegram, The New York Daily News, Boston Traveler, Boston Globe, Chicago Daily News, Chicago Daily Tribune, Saint Louis Globe Democrat, San Francisco Chronicle, Los Angeles Times, San Diego Union, The Milwaukee Journal, Washington News, Baltimore Sun, The Christian Science Monitor, Denver Rocky Mountain News, Life, The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Globe and Mail, The Washington Post and the Times Herald. This tour is one of the longest and the most triumphant of tours in the history of world music. Ensemble ‘Tanec’ twice repeated this giant success, first with their 72-concert tour of Germany from August 15 until October 27, 1956, and secondly with their 83-concert tour of France from September 20 until November 25, 1959. They played two concerts in Dortmund, Germany on September 18 and 19, 1959.

The Life Magazine wrote: "A hundred years ago on the rugged roads of Macedonia, bands of brigands used to plunder the caravans of rich merchants and, like Robin Hood, pass on some of their spoils to the poor... the Yugoslav National Folk Ballet which this spring is making a first, and highly successful, tour of the U.S. The skilful troupe of 40 dancers and musicians was founded by Tito to perpetuate his country’s culture. …Together they make as vigorous a display of dancing as the U.S. has ever seen..." – Article entitled “DANCE, BOUNCING BRIGANDS, Yugoslavs come to U.S.”, published in the Life Magazine, April 9, 1956, Vol. 40, No. 15, pp. 173-174. On April 30 2011, I contacted SINAR for a repair on my Sinar HY6.

They referred me to Sinar Distributor, Bron Imaging Group, Edison NJ.

I personally delivered the camera to them, telling the Rep. Rafael Salomon, that I "only needed the broken handle part replaced".

On June 21 2011 (Yes, after almost 2 months), the Rep. Rafael Salomon, sent me an invoice, that included an Upgrade Firmware upgrade for $752.96, even though, I had very specifically told him not to do anything besides the handle replacement.

I did send an email to Rep. Salomon, asking not to do this upgrade, and he sent me an email saying: "If the camera's firmware is not upgraded, the mirror will timeout constantly. Also, the AF performance is enhanced with the new firmware.

We therefore it is (sic) strongly recommend to perform a Firmware Upgrade.

Let me know if you still wish to proceed without the firmware upgrade."

I have a few simple minded questions.

If I ask only for a handle replacement, why do I need to do a "Firmware upgrade". After all, a broken handle is NOT a broken Firmware.

Since SINAR, made this camera, and I also have the Sinar 75LV back; wouldn't they provide this upgrade for free? They made a flawed product in the first place.

SINAR made and sold the Sinar HY6 and their Sinar back, for a ton of money, but the camera has been made with a fragile handle, for a camera this size.

This camera, fell from 2 feet, inside of a camera bag, and the side handle broke.

Do we (users who bought the Sinar HY6) need to start a Class Action suit, to make Sinar replace the handles on all Sinar HY6?

If Sinar sold a camera, Sinar HY6, whith a flawed Firmware, in the first place, as their Rep. Rafael Salomon admits, then all Sinar HY6 owners should receive a free upgrade.

This camera is no longer in production, and its resale price has plummeted, Sinar and Bron made their big money, and now, want to continue fleecing the Sinar HY6 owners.

ValloNicka Films ("Sometimes in Life", "The Mongol King") was recently one of six Detroit-area finalists for the Mobiflicks competition as part of the Motown PAH-FEST 2008. PAH-FEST (Project Accessible Hollywood) is a traveling film festival and the brainchild of Christopher Coppola who is the brother of Nicolas Cage and nephew of legendary film director Francis Ford Coppola.

PAH-FEST is a digital media festival that travels to cities throughout the US and abroad. PAH-FEST encourages visual storytelling, fosters community engagement and promotes the production of fictional and documentary videos that will be shared globally.

For the Mobiflicks competition, director Anthony Vallone had three days to shoot, edit and complete a short film with coaching and equipment from the PAH-FEST team. The ValloNicka team shot "Granny Panties", based on the short story "Why the Granny Panty Told the G-String to Stick It" written by Lee Runchey.

"Granny Panties" is a unique narrative written from the point-of-view of a wise, elderly Granny Panty who is hanging in the back of a laundromat while a young woman wearing a pink g-string washes her clothes.

The story was originally published in The Connecticut Review, a prestigious literary journal whose pages have featured authors including Pulitzer-prize winner John Updike.

Vallone is also the director of "Sometimes in Life", the Michigan-made, independent feature that recently premiered on June 27 at the Detroit Windsor International Film Festival. "Sometimes in Life" is a story of life, love, loss and an unlikely friendship between two lost people whose lives are stuck in a rut. Jill is a young fashion designer who suspects that her lesbian girlfriend is cheating on her while Rob mourns the loss of his father.

The film stars Sara Stepnicka, Eric Morrison, Gunhild Giil and Jon E. Livernois. Wayne David-Parker, Angela Roberts, Emily Rose, Ethan Helmann-Scherrer, Carol Pierangelino and Sharon Emigh complete the cast.

"Sometimes in Life" also features music from two-time Grammy winner Ozomatli, Modest Mouse, Michael Franti and Spearhead, Presley and Anilore. In addition, listen for made-in-Detroit artists Amp Fiddler, Jamie McCarthy, Cetan Clawson, Bedford Drive, The Bloids and Mindizade.

ValloNicka Films originally signed a deal with CreateSpace as part of the 1,000 HD DVD Indies Project to present "Sometimes in Life" to the Sundance Channel for possible broadcast on their network. Although the deal had to be canceled after the announcement earlier this year that HD films would no longer be a standard, industry format, ValloNicka Films is currently discussing the film with other distributors.

For more information about "Sometimes in Life", and to see the trailer, visit www.sometimesinlifethemovie.com or www.myspace.com/sometimesinlifethemovie.

"Sometimes in Life" is the second feature from ValloNicka Films. Their first movie, "The Mongol King", joins Robert Rodriguez’s groundbreaking film "El Mariachi" as one of the five lowest-budget films ever to receive a distribution deal.

"Sometimes in Life" is an official selection of the Trinity Film Festival in Detroit on August 2, 2008. For more information, visit www.trinityfilmcoalition.com.

the successor of Franke & Heidecke, has announced an update of the Rolleiflex Hy6 for Photokina 2012. The new Rolleiflex Hy6 Mod2 appears to have a new grip, reinforced tripod plate, and a redesigned "transmission" to reduce the impact of mirror movement. There will also be new firmware, with autofocus adjustment for more lenses.
