This is a pair of Vans with Brawl Stars characters. They’re a gift from Supercell, the developer of the 3v3 mobile game.

I don’t make content for Brawl Stars, but I have played it since Alpha. As a “Super Creator” — I make a website for Clash Royale called RoyaleAPI — I receive perks and swags from the company often.

These are the only Vans I have ever owned. They are super comfy. I know that Vans exists as a brand, but I have never bought them myself.

I received this pair as a gift towards the end of 2021, and have been wearing them everyday throughout 2022. So comfortable!

I shot this phto in 2022 because I wanted to share them on Twitter, but I never posted them anywhere — tbh, I have felt somewhat embarassed about what I do for a long time. Most people give me blank stares — the kids would light up knowing who I am, but most people my age would not know who Supercell is and I would often feel ridiculous having to explain / justify why I do what I do. I learned to care less.

These were shot inside Orangemonkie Foldio3 — it‘s a brilliant lightbox that I bought because I wanted to photograph the merchandise I received from Supercell. Often, I have to make designs for the giveaway items, and I prefer to shoot my own photographs for them, because the standard product shots from Supercell don’t always meet my design needs.

As Cosmopolitan writes, it is “Sex in the City marries Facebook.” While SML has his “MenReview” project, it seems that this idea is not really that far off, as clearly there is a market for men reviews.

Available on iOS as well as the Android platform, LuLu allows women to review men anonymously, with things which women apparently do care about: is he ambitious, trustworthy, good in bed?

Sickly awesome. Crazysigood. SML Love.

I found out today that I’m known as “SML Artist Yale” on someone’s phone. I thought that it’s brilliant. Her reasoning is sensible — a bit like how I think, actually:

If she forgot my name (this happens to all of us!), then she would remember me as an artist from Yale. This feels very special. I’ve been called an “artist” in the past, but most of the time, people call me that mostly as an insult (LOL) — you know, “artist personality” etc…

I think that Ivy actually sees me as one, and I’m very happy about that. Most people had no idea that I studied art, especially since I work with programming and technology so much.

To me, computer is mostly a tool. I do enough of it so I can create things — but the things I create are intended to be art — that is, they are a representation of me, my emotion, and my ideas. Even when I create an app or a website, they’re concepts and ideas. Just because they’re additionally functional doesn’t mean that it’s no longer art.

What is art anyway if not a concept?
