And the HDR shot of Double Arch. I just loved how this turned out! (Maybe it's b/c it was one of the last shots I got without people in it?)
Carnival by the Waterfront Under the Moonlit Sky by David Gn

This image was shot on a tripod with 7 exposures ranging from 1 second to 5 seconds, and HDR processed in Photomatix. The combined image was then processed in Photoshop using Auto Tone and Auto Contrast. No Hue/Saturation, no Curve adjustments, no Shadow/Highlights.

 

The moon was blended in from a separate shot at 90%. Sorry guys, I may have gone overboard with the moon. I love to shoot the moon and I have lots of moon shots laying around, screaming to be added to another image. Of course, the screaming is all in my head. I hear things sometimes.

 

It's Rose Festival and the carnival's in town. This was taken after the fireworks. The crowd left and I could move to another spot for this shot. Actually, the new spot is just a foot away from where I was shooting all the fireworks.

New Brighton Pier in Christchurch, New Zealand is illuminated at night and changes colours and has different lighting effects that make this a great spectacle at night. I've tried to capture its beauty as best as i could, but I know i will be back soon to take more photos of this concrete structure, and piece of simple architecture which is pleasing to the eye.

The red is the barriers into the pit straight - none of it is shopped in, all I've done is tweak the contrast and so on a teensy bit.

 

There aren't as many mad curves on the F1 cars this year to play with, but they're still things of beauty.

I didn't just want this to be yet another picture of a kingfisher for its own sake and I had a feeling the yellow irises would do me proud in the background and provide contrasting colours but i wasn't prepared for how impressionistic they would turn out. I love shooting with this lens.
