Treviglio is a town in the province of Bergamo, in Lombardy, Northern Italy. It lies 20 kilometres (12 miles) south of the province capital, Bergamo, in the lower territory called "Bassa Bergamasca".

The old town of Treviglio is mainly made up of courtyards, most of them open to the public twice a year. Many are also the sacred sanctuaries, true places of worship that have ancient traditions

So I have discovered a 'secret courtyard' located high up above McMahons Point.

Along Warung Street, McMahons Point.

Just off Blues Point Road.

You have to walk down a stone pathway, lined on either side with camellias and lilly-pillies, to discover this secluded courtyard with views across the harbour to the city and Barangaroo.

But then, shortly after I took the photographs in this courtyard, it belted down raining. I retreated to the car parked on Warung Street outside the 'Tree Preservation' site, lol, and then - when the rain persisted - got some Thai from the 'Chedi' Thai restaurant on Blues Point Road. Red Thai curry with prawns and rice, with S. Pellegrino sparkling mineral water from Italy, lol.

This is my absolut favorite from those images facing upwards in an inner courtyard! This is where an ultra wide lens (like a fisheye) is just priceless ;)

The pictures shows a courtyard within the central building of the "Landbank Baden-Württemberg" (LBBW). LBBW is a full-service and commercial bank and central bank for savings banks in Baden-Württemberg, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saxony. The company focuses on industrial technologies, information technology, software, telecommunication, innovative services and life science.

The Leonardo Hotel Berlin Mitte was designed by Eike Becker Architekten and completed in 2014.

In the Middle Ages, the courtyard was part of a hospital.

The Atrium is made up of two spaces that are connected by way of a tunnel underneath the Passage. The Atrium has its entrance in the Passage. The original brick walls of the Passage have been replaced with large expanses of glass, allowing passers-by to admire the interior courtyards.

Some palaces have more courtyards than rooms... Wonder if the symbolic expression 'royal court>' has to do with those numerous inner open spaces of various size in such complexes?..
