The message was for Abraham (Genesis 13:17). The land was the inheritance for him and the generations to follow - a very practical life and physical expression of the walk of faith. He needed to explore it thoroughly and learn to appreciate and value it. So it is with spiritual truth for the Christian - there is a vast inheritance in Christ to be explored and appreciated. Whilst new birth with forgiveness and eternal life is an immediate, total, overwhelming gift, real growth in the Christian faith is not something gained overnight or at great speed or through sudden bursts. It is a spiritual walk, a lifelong journey beyond that moment of coming to Christ for salvation.
It is my motto text for a new website www.wherepathsmeet.wordpress.com seeking to link appreciation of our own landscapes and the wonders of nature with the spiritual journey of faith in Jesus Christ.

Please, don't sweep the leaves away,
Their essence gives to life's decay.
Never hack the flowers down,
Their colours bless the laughing clown.
Now why the mowing of the lawn?
The severed grass will lie forlorn.
