Given a slight blur and monochrome conversion.

Even before lockdown, the local deli counters in the big stores were only open 2 or 3 days a week. They clearly weren't paying their way and when they closed during lockdown I suspected that would be the opportunity for them to shut for good. None of the local ones have reopened - is this a more widespread closure?

The former ticket offices from the abandoned railway station of Montzen (B), where once train tickets could be bought.

Now it is a domain of graffiti sprayers who add some color to the desolation with their spray cans........

When you go to a New Jersey diner, you know you're going to see lots of red things! This, from one of our favorites, the Silver Diner. I've been told it's a chain, so if there's one near you.......

The change from Daylight Saving Time back to Standard Time has been a source of consternation for the cats as I try to shift their feeding times an hour later. It is expressed with counter stalking and dramatic licking of the scoop that I use to dole out portions of dry food--as if to say "I am on the brink of starvation".

I can not get them to understand the concept. :D

Guru is almost 8 months old, muscular and solid, but you can see the kitten in him still, peering into that dish towel.

The bright backdrop of a cafe in the UniSA foyer, seen through the black metal security screen pulled around the counter perimeter, like a porous see through shower curtain.

When I placed warm, just-dried laundry on the kitchen counter, Jimmy could not have been more happy. I took lots of photos; thank you for your indulgence.

The wood grain on the bar counter is so beautiful.

Best of viewed large. A pair of ospreys were trying to drive off my nesting couple. It didn't work. It was mostly posturing but it looked like war!!

The gold and silver pegs used as counters on a Cribbage Board which have seen much use over the use as Niqui and I always play when we're away and relaxing.

Have you ever thought that the modern world is being run by bean counters? Well, here's one of them. I'm withholding his personal address for security reasons.
