Psalm 20
The Lord hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee;
2 Send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion;
3 Remember all thy offerings, and accept thy burnt sacrifice; Selah.
4 Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel.
5 We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the Lord fulfil all thy petitions.
6 Now know I that the Lord saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.
7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.
8 They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright.
9 Save, Lord: let the king hear us when we call.

Whether my bark went down at sea -
Whether she met with gales -
Whether to isles enchanted
She bent her docile sails -
By what mystic mooring
She is held today -
This is the errand of the eye
Out upon the Bay.
Emily Dickinson

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
(Psalm 1:1-3)

Heading for very hot days. This seemed fitting to help me keep cool.
I couldn't walk down to the waters edge, but these peek-a-boo views were still quite delightful.
I couldn't resist a bit of HDR magic to bring out the aqua colored water.

A funny sign and shop that we found while out discovering the southern USA! I'm not sure I would trust them?!
This giant panda cub was having trouble figuring out how to work this slide. So he sought counsel from his sister.

Windows are an important part of street photography for me. On the one hand, there are the interesting reflections, but also the confusion that sometimes arises and has to be resolved first. I love it. I would be delighted if you would take a look at the pictures in my album. Only if you feel like it, of course :-) Best regards MarioM.
Fenster sind für mich in der Streetphotographie ein wichtiger Bestandteil. Zum einen sind da die interessanten Spiegelungen aber auch Verwirrungen, die es manchmal gibt und die erst einmal aufgelöst werden muss. I liebe es. Es würde mich freuen, wenn du dir die Bilder in meinem Album ansehen würdest. Natürlich nur wenn du Lust hast :-) Liebe Grüsse MarioM.
"vacant mind gives birth to ..." you know
being locked down and vacant I've put "cloud counseling" (earlier posted individually) pics together
if you're new to the party the original blurb goes like that:
"===============================
the cloud was reclining in the shrink's chair with somber expression on its face
shrink: what seems to be the problem? what bothers you?
cloud: what bothers me? - everything!
I don't know who I am, I don't know whether I'm coming or going, I don't know what's gonna happen next 30 seconds, I don't even know how many of me are there!, I don't know to be or not to be, I don't bleepin' know anything! that's what seem to be the problem and that bothers me! a lot!
shrink: I see. You feel vulnerable. I understand. Search for identity is such a typical nebulous endeavour but ... I can't help but wonder if you are not being a tad too sensitive?
cloud: too sensitive? sensitive my cloud arse!
ok, see this Slava bloke took photos, personal photos, of me , candid shots, he was watching me , in a most perverted sort of way, over like half an hour , creep! and you can see what happens to me within half an hour , see for yourself, if this is not identity crisis I don't what is!
got some pills?
========================
since I have been mentioned and called names I just have to make a statement: I had no intention to hurt cloud's feelings, I just sat there with my wine and took shots of the same cloud, yes the same cloud, over half an hour
and yes I agree, being a cloud is no picnic , it messes with your head (cloud's head that is)

“Solitude is such a potential thing. We hear voices in solitude, we never hear in the hurry and turmoil of life; we receive counsels and comforts, we get under no other condition . . .”
~ Amelia E. Barr quotes
Arches National Park was the first stop on my trip. After the initial jawdropping awe I was experiencing set in, the sunset preparing to commence I was looking for the best place set up for "the" capture. As I drove through the park, my first instinct was to follow the crowds, thinking other photogs must know the best place to shoot from. After joining a couple of hot spots..with photographers lined up elbow to elbow, I thought to myself this isn't for me...so I continued though the park and saw this! After shooting a couple of shots I looked up and there was the moon and that sealed the deal for me - comfort in solitude.
Someone was playing the guitar there.. Umm.. I still remember that windy and chilly day. I really want to travel around England again.
Sorry for writing in Korean recently, friends. Have a lovely weekend :)

A young Canada goose family in a teachable moment. Since this gosling was the smaller of his siblings he became the family focus as he led his brothers and sisters up the hill from the pond. He became tired and sat down while the rest of the family knew there was more distance to cover before any rest was deserved. Siblings tried to warn him as he sat in their way to no avail. But mother goose stood him up and gave him a scolding while he/she protested as best he/she could. I laughed out loud at this sight. I'm certain you creative folks can come up with a better title for this image than I did...give it a go! All rights reserved.

Be patient. Is God not fast enough? Are His answers too tough? A quick sympathy from a friend may suggest that you simply drop out, be good to yourself, get away from it all. Someone else will be sure to say, “You need counsel.” Are you sure? One hour at the foot of the Cross may obviate the necessity of professional counseling (no such thing existed until the twentieth century – what did folks do before then?). (Elizabeth Elliot)
Enjoy in a Little things in life, for one day you will look back and realize they were the Big things. ;-)

The Desiderata of Happiness
Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons,
they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs;
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love;
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment
it is as perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy.

I'm working on an anthology of classic, epic poetry, which begins with selections from Homer's Iliad and Odyssey! :) I've replaced the Roman names with the Greek names: "RAGE, Sing, O goddess, the rage of Achilles son of Peleus, that brought countless ills upon the Greeks. Many a brave soul did it send hurrying down to Hades, and many a hero did it yield a prey to dogs and vultures, for so were the counsels of Zeus fulfilled from the day on which the son of Atreus, king of men, and great Achilles, first fell out with one another."
All the best on your epic hero's odyssey into the art of photography!
