(Not so sure if these ones are clover flowers, they look a little different. If this is another flower, please correct me.)

Clouds in the sky after a rainy morning. I went to Oak Canyon to get out and smell the fresh air. This set was captured from the same spot on a hill top. I was lucky today. It was a good day.

I had seconds to get this shot. Good thing my camera was on and close to the correct settings.

Please correct me if necessary. The "Coop-Shined" ID always makes me foam at the mouth :)) This one made a swing and a miss at some songbirds, perched for a moment before flying off through the branches with complete abandon. They are awesome birds.

Tasmania is brimming with so many places of natural beauty. This little gem is Dove Lake, which I have been lucky enough to visit twice now. I asked Chat GPT to tell me about it and here is what it said:

Dove Lake Walk, located in the stunning Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park in Tasmania, is considered one of Australia's most beautiful nature walks. It offers a 6-kilometer, 2–3-hour circuit around the glacially carved Dove Lake, nestled directly beneath the towering Cradle Mountain.

The walk takes hikers on a journey through diverse landscapes. As you navigate the undulating path, the walk offers both intimate and epic views of Cradle Mountain and immerses you in the surrounding vegetation. The track undulates around Dove Lake, traverses beneath the mountain, then returns through magnificent rainforest taking you through some of Tasmania's special vegetation, from buttongrass to myrtle, sassafras, fagus and King Billy pine.

Sound tempting? I must correct the narrative though, taking a camera with you extends the time from 2-3 hours to "how long am I allowed to spend taking photos before my companions leave without me"

… and getting my attention. She doesn't quite accept my work on the keyboard when she wants attention (snuggling on my shoulder while I type is only good for a brief time.) She is more than happy to block keyboard access and ability to see display both. Tikki also gets attention by opera arias, moving pictures hanging from walls and sinking claws delicately into my leg but let’s stick with this. Happy Caturday 5 June 2021 “Getting Attention.”

Stony Point Nature Reserve conservation

This unique mainland seabird breeding colony is the home to three endangered seabird species and one rarity, all of whom are visible from the reserve’s elevated viewing boardwalk.

The iconic black and white African penguin is the focus of conservation efforts. Our hardy endemic arrived from declining off-shore island colonies to this rocky mainland location in 1982 and has thrived ever since to currently support the largest penguin colony in the Western Cape with over 2 000 seasoned breeding pairs (data correct as of 2014).

The uniformed black Bank cormorant pairs, with courting white rumps, predominate at the rocky outcrops of Beacon Bay in Stony Point. The clumsy Cape cormorant roosting numbers are increasing at this location due to their symbiotic foraging relationship they share with the deep diving penguin and other neighborly marine predators. Finally, our rarity at this unique location is the Crowned cormorant whose pairing numbers are also increasing. They too brood alongside the Bank cormorant and also predominate the rocky out crops of Beacon Bay. Their tea-pot form, crest of plumage and ruby colored eye amongst the black and turquoise of the larger Bank cormorant

I hope it is the correct bay, I was wandering around. I found amazing the way the Scottish coast goes from rocky cliffs to spots like this. The waves were singing a beautiful melody for the mind.

This is my second time on flickr, I started back in 2012,

I needed a change so I started anew, clean slate new beginning, today, I am pausing and reflecting on my jounery

Being a submissive, I would say authenticity reigns supreme. It is not merely about surrendering control, but about embracing the true essence of who I am. I do what makes me up, delving deep into the recesses of my soul to uncover the raw, unfiltered truth that lies within. It is a journey marked by vulnerability, courage, and an unwavering commitment to self-discovery.

There have been moments when doubt has clouded my path, casting shadows upon my journey, times I felt very isolated and alone, its not easy to pack a punch, as an introvert with a small circle. Society's whispers of judgment and misunderstanding have remained with me, threatening to derail me from the correct course. Yet, in the face of adversity, I have found strength in the power of my authentic voice.

I tell my story not as a mere recollection of events, being in a long term submssive relationship, and engading ofthen in S&M play, I find is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit- my spirt. It is a story woven with threads of passion, desire, and unwavering determination. Through the art of photo stories, I reclaim my narrative, casting aside the shackles of societal expectations to embrace the true essence of my submissive nature.

thank you for 3000 followers, my story continues...

The cards fell correctly into place this particular Saturday afternoon. New power from Toronto had arrived in Kitchener the night before, and the chances of an all GP9 consist were high. The crew selected these 3 units, put them together, and ran to Stratford with 3 hoppers in tow. I rendezvoused with the train and friends at Stratford, and gave chase after they finished their work there. A trio of GP9s was already fantastic, but here just north of Thorndale the climax of the chase occurred when the skies opened up displaying excellent storm light. Just a mere 100 feet behind us was a pop up downpour that was so close we could feel the mist from it on our backs, but we escaped getting wet luckily. Good power, great light when it counted, and good company from great friends made this one of the best chases so far over my 10 years of rail photography.

I've done my best to correctly identify this lovely dragonfly, but will happily be corrected.

i've been playing with a lot of lighting in sl lately, mostly with strong contrast and extremely high ambient occlusion offsets.

Today however, i decided to go in the opposite direction and go in an over exposure. when i think of negative space used correctly, i always think of Whiskey Monday, someone that has always inspired me on here, a really amazing artist. though i don't think i quite captured how wonderfully they encapsulate even the most minute details in their work, i really enjoyed stepping out of my comfort zone and trying to do something different. [and not full body, hidden shots, missing negative space.] anywoo, thank you whiskey, for always being so inspirational in everything you do. even if i don't say it often, your work always moves me.

It still sounds like a good idea...

Aboutme

Taken at Arne, Picture had very little adjustments done to it and no filters used at the time, I exposed for the sky to get as much detail as possible for when I processed the RAW file. Processed the RAW file by correctly re-adjusting the exposure and applying grad filter over the sky and small amount of sharpening.

With the usual Siemens Charger out of service, train 371, the Pere Marquette, from Grand Rapids to Chicago was entrusted to a 32-year-old B32-8bwh. It's a bit after 8am and the cloud line was directly overhead allowing for a sunny run-by at Burns Harbor, IN.

Photographed at Randall Park, Yakima, Washington. I think I have this female American Widgeon correctly identified but I have never seen that much white and black on a female American Wigeon wing. Tilt-shift lenses are fabulously expensive, and—I’ve been telling myself—unnecessary, because one can simply correct perspective in post. Yeah, well, but 3-axis rotation does not suffice. I really ought to have corrected lateral perspective and minimized vertical perspective with my feet.

Admiring the work, too lazy to look up the artist.

If I remember correctly, this train stood on the outside platform of the station with the loco in shadow, so we wandered up the side of the track, fortunately without being challenged.

Again a guess, but this may well be D601, Erfurt - Chemnitz, with a lovely rake of DR express coaches.

Went to a New Year's Day party yesterday and an ol' friend drove his 1941 Packard 160 Convertible to the party. The car has been utilized in several motion pictures and is restored to great condition. * I first posted the caption of this image as a 1951 Packard. I've corrected my typographic mistake in case any of you really care! lol

Approaching I-35 with a warm load of pellets. I really like those wide nose SD40-2's like the second unit but the tunnel motors are growing on me. But it's tough to miss with a consist like this in December 2021.

Not the correct use of this idiom but this Firecrest did seem to have a bowed head which showed off his fiery crest beautifully. Firecrests have more orange in the crown than Goldcrests, especially females which have an all yellow crown stripe in Goldcrest. Here's a male Goldcrest for comparison (he was singing): www.flickr.com/photos/timmelling/49755706231/in/photolist

The amount of orange here makes me think this Firecrest is a male. It is the one that frequented the banks of the River Aire near St Aidans back in February.

Back to my title, which is a misquote of the line "Uneasy lies the head that wears a crown", from Shakespeare's play Henry IV, Part 2, but used recently by Stormzy. It means that those charged with major responsibility carry a heavy burden that makes it difficult for them to relax. And finally, its scientific name Regulus means "little king" from its crown.
