After hiking for 5 hours we finally reached the camp site , a small clearing in the dense Bush , only big enough for a few small tents & a hut for those who like more comfort. Amazing view though !

This is about half way across the Coromandel Peninsula .

For today's theme, three panoramic photos from New Zealand, a country where you can't point a camera and not get a good shot. This shot taken on a scenic drive around the Coromandel peninsular.

A bit of the countryside to the east of Auckland NZ, on the Coromandel Peninsula.

(Ceriagrion coromandelianum). These dainty, medium-sized damsels are common in India and the rest of South Asia. The male is bright yellow, the female pale green. They breed in weedy ponds, ditches and rice fields. They are also known as yellow waxtails and fly all year round.

Built 1881. Coromandel Valley, South Australia

Coromandel Valley, and its neighboring suburb, Coromandel East, gain their name from a ship, the Coromandel, which arrived in Holdfast Bay from London in 1837 with 156 English settlers. The ship was in turn named after the Coromandel Coast in India. After the ship reached the shore, on 17 January 1837 some of its sailors deserted, intending to remain behind in South Australia, and took refuge in the hills in the Coromandel Valley region. Appearing after the ship had sailed, they were never prosecuted, owing to the lack of a suitable official.

I love the fact there is the sun going down and the moon in the same photo

I'm feeling proud and honoured to receive an email today that one of my images has again been selected for PSNZ's flagship publication, 'New Zealand Camera 2021'. This is one of my personal favourites - I use Adobe Lightroom's star-rating system, and this is one of only 7 images I've ever made that I feel is worthy of all five stars. Often I find that the ones I really like aren't as popular with other people, so it's always nice when someone else likes it too :)

This image was made in one of those serendipitous moments, when you just happen to be in the right place at the right time. And, like one of my other favourites, it required hanging on to the tripod amidst a howling gale, trying to get the frames off quickly enough for the panorama that the clouds (and camera) didn't blow away. And again, like a couple of my other favourites, the post-processing could be left to a bare minimum, revelling in just how incredible the light was and enjoying the moment with only three other people on the peak with me.

A re-edit of one of my first star panoramas from a while ago.

Having gone on a camping trip to the Coromandel Peninsula I set the alarm to wake me up at 3am (which is when the moon finally went below the horizon and gave me some clean skies) and walked down to the beach to take some star shots.

I had this set of 12 I took and up until now I had completely forgotten to stitch and edit them, not sure how I missed them but they stitched well and I'm quite pleased with the end result!

Each shot is shot at:
