Copped Hall is a ruined mansion near Epping. Much of the work on the house and the Italianate gardens was carried out between 1837 and 1907. Then fire broke out on the 5th May 1917. It was gutted and when I first saw it 40 years ago, there were no floors or roof. Now it has been partly restored by the Copped Hall Trust, but much work remains to be done.

Several dozen people and community groups rallied outside city hall before the start of the City's police budget hearing where the PPD will be testifying in front of City Council about their budget for next year, an outrageous proposal for $940 million dollars. Speakers demanded more money and programs for community needs, which would solve more problems than increasing funds to an already bloated police budget.
