Copper washing under a microscope. The lack of backlight resulted in a sark sphere where there is nothing and the ultra narrow depth of field gives off a glow. To me it has an outerspacey sort of feel with the copper being the cosmos and the dark mass a hidden planet
A mix of translucent and colored polymer clay was mixed with copper inclusions and twisted to form these small, lightweight earrings.

Hammered copper wire forms these intricate coiled earrings. All parts of the earrings are hand formed including the copper ear wires.

My first attempt at a layered look. The observant jewelry person will notice that I inverted the upper leaf-shape before soldering (doh!). Both pieces are 24 gauge copper. The larger stone is faceted moonstone with a glass bead on the top and bottom. The upper piece is a butane heat patina. Finished with Bowling Alley Wax.

The copper artwork was developed by art students from Ilseworth and Syon School; the inspiration for the copper images came from plants introduced into the UK in the reign of George III - plants such as camellias, tiger lilies and the monkey puzzle tree.
