Ipanema is a neighborhood located on the southern region of the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, between Leblon and Arpoador. The beach at Ipanema became widely known by the song "The Girl from Ipanema" ("Garota de Ipanema"), written by Antonio Carlos Jobim and Vinícius de Moraes.
It is famously known for its elegance and social qualities. Two mountains called the "Dois Irmãos" (Two Brothers) rise at the western end of the beach. The beach is divided into segments by marks known as "postos" (lifeguard towers). Beer is sold everywhere on the beach along with the traditional cachaça. There are always circles of people playing football, volleyball, and footvolley, a combination sport of volleyball and football originated in Brazil.
In the winter the surf can reach 9 feet. The water quality varies with days of light-blue water to a more murky green after heavy rains. Constant swells keep the water clean. The often treacherous beach break regularly forms barrels.
One interesting thing about Ipanema's beach is that there is an area called "the gay beach," situated near Rua Farme de Amoedo; which is well-known for being a gay-friendly area, with the rainbow flag flying in the air.
Just west of this colorful section and towards Leblon is another popular stretch of sand known as Posto Nove (aptly named after the 9th lifeguard tower) where young and often beautiful carioca men and women hipsters congregate.
The Travel Channel listed Ipanema Beach as the sexiest beach in the world.

Ipanema é um bairro da cidade brasileira do Rio de Janeiro, fundado, em 1894, por José Antônio Moreira, conde de Ipanema. Um dos bairros mais nobres da cidade, localiza-se na zona sul da cidade e possui um belo litoral. Faz divisa com os bairros de Copacabana, Leblon e Lagoa.

O desenvolvimento da Zona Sul foi forçado pela chegada da corte portuguesa no século XIX, quando a população da cidade (capital na ocasião) passou de sessenta mil para quinhentos mil habitantes. A corte preferiu seguir rumo norte, em direção à Floresta da Tijuca, enquanto o corpo diplomático e os ingleses preferiram a Zona Sul, onde só havia vilas de pescadores.

Ok, ainda estamos em primeiro no grupo... mas...
Saturday I went out with a friend from Rio and with her friend that lives in San Diego, United States. She's visiting Brazil because of the World Cup and arrived one week ago. A person with an amazing personality!
Just for yesterday, she rented a car and so we could tour many parts of the city and the neighbor city of Niterói (see note), from the sunrise (this photo) to the sunset. She was amazed! Couldn't believe in such beauty and diversity in just one place! City, beaches, forests, waterfalls... Everything! It was clear how excited she was and was a pleasure to see her happiness, specially because she have traveled the whole world and was not expecting what she found here, because everything she had heard about us was negative.
But what really caught my attention was the fact that she was all the time impressed with how everything was clean in a city with 8 million peoples! The streets, the beaches, the parks... She is hosted in a hotel just in front of Copacabana Beach, and every day have thousand of tourists and locals partying there and throwing junk in the streets and sand. She told me that every day when she wakes up, it's all clean again! She can see from her window the cleaning company doing the work and its so fast and well done, she said! LOL
Later, at night, we went to a Pizzaria Rodízio (A pizza restaurant where you can eat all flavors that you want paying only one time) and I ate my first pizza of the year! But she had been there before with my friend and had loved the chicken with Catupiry flavour. CATUPIRY is a kind of cream cheese, I though they had in US, but seems they do not have, and she loved it! Yesterday she ate only this flavor! I ate all of them! Hahaha.
It was clear how mesmerized she was about everything, and it was so good to see this, makes me believe again in my country. We here always have a negative feeling about us...

Sábado saí com um amigo do Rio e com sua amiga que vive em San Diego, Estados Unidos. Ela está visitando o Brasil por causa da Copa do Mundo e chegou há uma semana. Uma pessoa com uma personalidade fantástica!
Ontem ela alugou um carro para que pudéssemos visitar várias partes da cidade e também a cidade vizinha de Niterói (ver nota), desde o nascer do sol (esta foto) até o pôr do sol. Ela ficou maravilhada! Não podia acreditar em tanta beleza e diversidade em um só lugar! Cidade, praias, florestas, cachoeiras ... Tudo! Ficou claro o quão animada ela estava e foi um prazer ver a felicidade estampada em seu rosto, especialmente porque ela já viajou o mundo inteiro e não esperava encontrar o que encontrou aqui, porque tudo o que ela tinha ouvido falar de nós era negativo.
Mas o que realmente me chamou a atenção foi o fato de que ela ficava o tempo todo impressionada em como tudo era limpo em nossa cidade! As ruas, as praias, os parques ... Ela está hospedada em um hotel de frente à Praia de Copacabana, e todo dia tem milhares de turistas e moradores festejando por lá e jogando lixo nas ruas e areia. Disse que, todos os dias quando acorda, está tudo limpo novamente! Ela pode ver de sua janela os garis fazendo o trabalho e é tão rápido e bem feito! Hehe.
Mais tarde, a noite, fomos para um Rodízio de Pizza e eu comi a minha primeira pizza do ano! Mas ela já tinha estado lá antes com meu amigo e tinha adorado a de frango com Catupiry. Parece que eles não tem catupiry nos EUA e ela adorou! Ontem ela comeu apenas deste sabor! Eu comi de todos! Hahaha.
Era nítido o quanto ela estava impressionada com tudo, e era tão bom ver isso, me fez acreditar novamente no meu país. Nós aqui sempre temos um sentimento negativo sobre o Brasil...
Obrigado a minha nova amiga pelo grande dia que você nos deu. :-)

Thomas Müller (Mittelfeld, Bayern München): War vor dem Spiel die größte Überraschung, denn Müller ersetzte Trochowski in der Startelf. Das mit der Überraschung rettete Müller sehr erfolgreich in das Spiel - der Münchner lieferte auf rechts eine derart beeindruckende Vorstellung ab, dass man sich im Nachhinein fragt, ob das mit der Startelf wirklich überraschend war und nicht einfach folgerichtig. Müller machte nur die einfachen Dinge aber die einfach großartig. Die erste Hälfte nutzte der Mann mit der Nummer 13 zur Vorbereitung gefährlicher Aktionen, in der zweiten machte er Ernst. Schoss nach toller Vorarbeit von Lahm und Özil zunächst knappt drüber und zielte dann genauer. Auch wenn solche Vergleiche blöd klingen - sein 3:0 aus der Drehung erinnerte doch sehr an einen Treffer im WM-Endspiel 1974. Und nun raten Sie mal, wie der damalige Torschütze Gerd mit Nachnamen hieß und welche Nummer er trug?

Recebeu este nome em referência ao dia em que foram mortos os estudantes Martins, Miragaia, Dráusio e Camargo (conhecidos pelo acrônimo MMDC), 23 de maio de 1932, evento que se encaixa no contexto da Revolução Constitucionalista de 1932.

Fiquei nervosaça mas deu tudo certo! Adorei o jogo, apesar do nervosismo habitual!
Para não ficar tanto só no verde e amarelo, resolvi usar azul e amarelo, duas cores top na minha paixão por esmaltes.
