Control Morpholino Injected TP1-GFP

This was my control center after my power went out on Sunday morning. I set up my chair right in front of my window, opened it a bit to get some fresh air. You can see I have all of the necessities: a make-shift table with some Combo's on it, my battery-operated radio and headphones, and, well, the ALCOHOL!

Festung IJmuiden - MKB Heerenduin

Marineküstenbatterie, Widerstandsnest 81

Initially the battery consisted of a simple fire control post and four open beds, where the guns were mounted.

But later it became too vulnerable. Therefor the Germans had this naval battery reinforced with four artillery bunkers of the type M272, with a central fire control station of the type M178.

These bunker types are quite remarkable in the Netherlands. The fire control station was of medium size and had two observation rooms.

The four guns bunkers each had a horizontal field of fire of 120 degrees. The ammunition for the gun was kept in two modest rooms behind the gun. More ammo was kept in a large bunker of type FL246, not far behind the fire control station. Two smaller ammunition depots of type 134 were located close to the gun bunkers. The battery included a large number of lighter buildings used as shelter and hiding places, a canteen, an office, a kitchen and a dressing station.

Nowadays, almost all bunkers can be seen; in three combat shelters of the type 451a, a 450b and antiaircraft type FLA 24 an exhibition can be seen arranged by Bunkermuseum IJmuiden.

The sea has changed since 1945: by widening of the beach due to sand deposition against the south pier the sea is now further away from the battery than at that time.

I can't help but imagine that this is all replaced with a single 15" touch LCD

It can be very bothersome to have pets in your home. Pests can invade any home. If you are having a pest issue, you need to find out how to make them go away. You will find several things in this article to help you get rid of pests.

Use steel wool to plug in openings where rodents can enter. Even though mice can chew through quite a few things, these aren't able to be chewed with their teeth. If there is an opening greater than one-half inch, you should fill it. Remember that rodents can get through very tiny openings.

When it comes to eliminating pests, make sure you start this process at the beginning. That means getting rid of what attracted the pests in the first place. Things such as food, water and available shelter all make your home tempting to pests. Look for and eliminate any leaks, food scraps, and entry points into your home.

Don't be gullible when it comes to thinking you're past a bedbug infestation. Bedbugs can go without feeding for a whole year. You need to plug all holes in the home. It is then impossible for bedbugs to hide.

Bedbugs hide in a number of locations, which makes them hard to completely get rid of. Before you decide to attempt extermination, close off any holes. This will ensure that bugs cannot hide in the holes throughout the extermination process, simply to emerge later.

You need to take a look at your entire house. Termites may rear their ugly heads in the underground areas of your home. Damp basements, closets and crawl spaces ought to be evaluated to make sure that no infestation has occurred.

Anything you recycle needs to be rinsed. It really is especially essential to rinse items which contain sugar, such as soda cans. Rinse soda cans and bottles carefully therefore the sugar will not attract pests in your garage.

There are numerous options nowadays that allow you to control pests. Whichever method you select, you must make sure it's safe around your loved ones. You have to eradicate pests, but you can't risk your family's health either. aantexpestcontrol.com/bed-bugs/

This airport has one of the nicest control towers in the country, though the colors are a bit faded.

And it's set against a nice blue sky too ;-)

Was reminded of these controlled burn photos from last year, so thought I'd post a couple of my favorites....

Controlled burn at Donald Park, south of Mount Horeb, Wisconsin. April 11, 2009.

Here are all the controls temporarily mounted in the control panel, which has been installed in the cabinet. The buttons serve to mimic both the layout of a NEO GEO control panel as well as a Street Fighter-type six-button layout. It may not be obvious from this photo, but this is pretty much the absolute maximum amount of controls I was going to be able to cram into this control panel.
