Dailyshoot assignment #81 [photo that tells a story with contrasting elements].

Four of the girls in our house.

The story in our life for the last many years has been adoption which in our case has led to many contrasting human elements:

Race: caucasian, hispanic, American Indian, African (two Liberian tribes)

Colors: many shades of brown, many hair colors

Culture: let's just say that there was significant culture shock when our girls came from Africa

Yet, for all that contrast, each of them is created and loved by God the same :-)

No fancy shooting here -- lined them up, popped my 580exii flash on the camera (bounced off the ceiling), and clicked.

just a shot of a fake flower and it's shadow with my not-used-often-enough macro lens

Ghost gums feature in aboriginal Dreamtime stories and gained prominence with the wider public in the 20th century through the paintings of aboriginal artist Albert Namatjira. Ghost Gum occurs in arid areas on rocky slopes, red sand flats and dry creek beds. It is found predominantly in the south of the Northern Territory, extending to the west just over the border into Western Australia and extending to the east into central Queensland, including a separate occurrence on red earth.

This is called 'Contrast' because the footprints in the snow signify a busy park in the day. A park that is deserted at night.

green grass and white snow is not really a sensation, but i have never seen it before in such a conrast.

Photographed in Ladakh, India.

You can see the green of the grass and in the background the white giants of Himalaya.

A unique scene with the sharply contrasting architecture

A normally rather institutional building looks so much more dramatic in high contrast black and white

Orange and black make for a nice contrast of colors on the MT 200, along with the colors of the cabooses behind it. This unit is rarely run, so it was a treat to see it pull the caboose train with ease... and lots of smoke later too!

This photo shows contrast by highlighting the difference between light and dark by accentuating the high points of the photo and the darker, more deep points which are covered with a shadow.
