Since so many of you expressed an interest in my silly rooster potholder, I would like to propose the following consolation:

I know that a lot of you really, really wanted it - some even clucked for it.

Last night was the opening for the "Age of Aquarius" show at the local art center. They and a "big hair" contest and here are a few of the contestants... posing with Paul and George.
Upcoming contests include a hippy costume contest and an 80s themed costume contest.
Christina hosted a poetry contest in April and we had a lot of great submissions! Thanks to all who entered and congratulations to the winners!

No one goes hungry at Mother Kevin's, but there is always a contest for the last spoonfuls: posho - maize paste - and cabbage fill the plate, but not the stomach. Some Sundays, there is enough money for meat, but most days only these bland staples are served.
