SLag Magazine is opening the competition up to Flickr submissiong in addition to in world and e-mail for the last 2 weeks of the competition. Pertinent additions are in bold.
SLag Magazine Inc. is having a contest where you could have the chance to have your photograph displayed on the FRONT COVER of the first ever Second Life Fetish Magazine to be out this April (not far away now!) as well as a chance to win $5,000 Lindens! This gritty kinky pulp magazine strives to encompass the variety of sexual fetishes out there in the Virtual and Real World in a tastefully explicit way through articles, pictorials, fashion and accessory reviews, and interviews. This is not your typical fashion or porn magazine. Our goal is to deliver raw sexual words and erotic images to our readers, ranging from raunchy to risque, in an artful and aesthetically pleasing format. See our NSFW March 2009 style book k to get an idea of what we are striving for in our layout.
1. The theme of the first cover is "Tattoos & Piercings".
2. Pictures should be in vertical format (like a Magazine cover) 1087x1403 120dpi and

7. Please no text on the photo
8. Nudity is acceptable, obviously
9. May not use copyrighted material that is not your own.
10. Image must not have been used for official publication within SL
11. 4 Honorable Mentions will be featured in the magazine as well, $500 Lindens each if chosen for publication.
The contest will run from Feb. 27-March.27 and will be judged by the Editor and creative staff of SLag Magazine Inc. 5 Finalists will be chosen the last week in March and posted on our blog slagmagazine.blogspot.com and The Big Winner will be announced at the SLag Magazine Release Party on Sunday April 5 where the magazine cover will be revealed and a live SLag Burlesque show will be performed for your pleasure.
Entering images indicates permission for and acceptance of the following:
-The decision of the judges will be final; one contest winner will be announced and judges may award Honourable Mentions to other images as they see fit.
-Use of the images for production of SLag Magazine Inc., a virtual magazine for distribution across the Second Life Grid and World Wide Web.
*The winning entry will become the property of SLag Magazine Inc. and may be used and/or modified without restriction in future publications, promotional materials or displays.*

The Metaverse is an ecosystem based on virtual diversity. All the avatars are unique, because there are always real persons behind the puppets. The Virtual Diversity Contest's goal is to showoff the countless biodiversity of avatars. From realistic to fantasy, to furries and manga like characters, The Avatar is always a mirror of our personality.
RULES OF THE CONTEST
1.The participants can submit only a picture
2. The submission must represent an avatar (it could be a self-portrait or a portrait of friend)
3. All the virtual worlds avatars can be displayed in the pictures
Submission Time
1. The Submission time will go from 28th of march to 19th of april
2. The runners-up and winner will be announced on 26th of april
All the entries will be judged by a pool of judges made up by Pierluigi Casolari founder and owner of the Koinup.com, Luca Spoldi, journalist and author of the magazine: Mondi Virtuali and Roxelo Babenco, owner and founder of the Metaverse Art Organization: Museo del Metaverso

Sometimes one scoop just doesn't cut it.
The image is a composite of three shots, one for each spoon, that I merged together with Photoshop. I also lightened the image and amped up the colour on the coffee. The background is just a thin white piece of card board that I curved underneath the cup. I often use this setup for close ups of objects as it takes out corners and distracting background. I had two reflective umbrella lamps to minimise harsh shadows. You can see in the lamps reflected in the back inner edge of the cup. The camera was sitting on a tripod and I snapped 67 shots before I thought I had the three shots that I needed. Set up, shooting and cleaning up all the frickn spilt coffee took about half an hour and another 45 minutes for the photo editing.

Greetings and welcome to the first Alchemy Photography Contest and Exhibit....
Here are the rules:
1) All images must be submitted by no later than midnight SLT on June 1st.
2) All images must be FULL PERM, so we can display them for voting.
3) All images submitted should be labled with "APC 2009" and your last name.
4) All images should be submitted to Annabelle Fanshaw
5) Grand Prize Winner is determined by popular vote- one vote per avatar.
6) All images should be of a PG nature, or at least on a tastefully mature level, no porn pix please ;-)
7) The image has to be taken in the Particles Region on the Alchemy sim.
8) Only one picture per avatar please.
There is no theme for this contest, we would just like you to show us Alchemy through your eyes.
On June 2nd, voting pictures received will begin-
June 28th voting closes, and results are tallied.
They will be displayed in the lower level of our shop at Alchemy, and you can vote on them
by touching them.

Robin Strand competing in the Jr class (he was 17) at the Stratford Ontario contest of the Ontario Physique Association
About 700 people came around and voted on the pumpkins in our Swansea Toronto neighborhood Halloween Pumpkin Contest. Winners receive much praise and bragging rights but all the entries look great and are enjoyed by everyone.
This neighborhood event is organized by the ladies at CHARLAND DESIGNS, who have been running this contest for several years.
