a ray of sunlight streams through the open balcony door of a grand apartment on madrid's bustling gran via, painting a quiet corner with the soft glow of the afternoon. this intimate space, adorned with curios and bathed in the golden hue, speaks of repose and reflection. here, a collection of books rests upon a sleek, round table, inviting moments of leisurely reading. the leather sofa, a silent witness to the passage of time, offers a respite from the city's fervor. outside, the ornate railing and the whispers of an urban symphony hint at the vibrant life beyond these walls. in this nook, one finds the luxury of stillness in the heart of the metropolis.

The Brief was to turn a tired three bedroom, two bathroom house into a stylish and modern four bedroom, three bathroom luxury residence. The clients requested a spacious, bright, open plan home to suit both work and play along with sufficient space for a home office and swimming pool.

The Result, a beautifully designed and well thought out space. By extending the home into the existing garage and encorporating it into the main living space along with relocating the kitchen, lee & allan design were able to create a usable home with clean lines and a mondern feel.

We were able to maximise the sense of space by insuring the indoor living spaces met the outdoors. This was achieved by installing windows and doors off each of the living and dining spaces which all lead to either the front or rear entertaining areas. Each of the living spaces overlook the pool or rear garden, and are positioned to maximise airflow.

This layout gives the occupants a lifestyle which is modern, functional, sustainable and relaxing.

Ørestad is a planned town between Copenhagen Airport and the City of Copenhagen, and was developed on the basis of an international architectural competition in 1994 which the Finnish ARKKI Aps won.

Ørestad provides sample space for new constructions that could not be fitted into the existing quarters of Copenhagen – due to their mere size. The town consists of the areas Ørestad North, Amager Fælled, Ørestad City (master plan by Daniel Libeskind), and the not yet built Ørestad South.
