A picture of my youngest son that turned out with quite a dark mysterious mood...but I love the intensity of it... Has an Assassin's Creed feel... don't you think!

“I had to clear up my messy life. By letting go of the debris and filth, I have come to a deeper, more soulful beauty and clarity like an oasis in the desert.”

So horrified to hear the terrible news coming from Belgium. My thoughts are with the people of Brussels. Very hard to make sense of all this insanity!

This was situated in the area where my wife brings on her plants, it was a little baby and couldn't get any closer with the lens so took it in apsc mode. Effectively it is f1.2 at 75mm with a 50mm dof - whatever that is in reality. - it matters not for it produced a nice effect :^)
Contemplation was the title of the first published book of 20th century author Franz Kafka, a collection of 18 short stories published in 1913. He seemed incapable of completing an actual novel and most of his works are short stories. I was going to name the picture 'Metamorphosis' after his most famous work but that transformation was far too grisly for such a beautiful flower......so Contemplation it is.

Adopting a contemplative attitude is certainly the best option to take if you have the chance to admire a beautiful sunset in the Atacama Desert

This Bighorn Sheep ewe seemed to be contemplating something wonderful as she peered down into the deep deep canyon on the COLORADO NATIONAL MONUMENT.

As the sun sets at the Huntington Beach Pier, one has to wonder what is on the minds of a few people as they stare into the ocean at the end of the pier…

I took this last month at Finn Slough, in Richmond, BC, along the Fraser River.
Flowering Nutmeg.

All rather bizarre as tis neither nutmeg nor honeysuckle :^)
It was the derelict barns that caught my attention, then a very interesting patch of cloud stole the spotlight.
Another photographer arrived soon after me, but instead of taking photos from the roadside, he made a beeline to the barns. I was pretty sure that's private property but the vantage point down there definitely was better. There were no "No Trespassing" signs so I went back and forth with the idea. Finally, it was the mid-calf length (perhaps even taller) grass that made me abandon the idea. (I was wearing shorts.)
Have a wonderful Friday!

I desaturated the colours in this photograph. It's just been that sort of day.
