The whiskers above Missy's eyes fall out and grow back periodically. As you can see, one was in the process of growing back when I took this photo.
I took Missy in as a three-month-old kitten, along with her brother and mother, 14 years ago this month. They were living in the woods near my house, having migrated from the barn of a woman who randomly puts food out for cats but never spays/neuters or even provides water.
Her brother, Angel, is still here with me. Isabel, their mother, died of a thrown clot (from her heart) on June 27 last year.
