Young European Robin [Erithacus rubecula]

This recently-fledged robin was flitting around my garden, going from branch, to grass, to water features.

Here, he (?) was sitting on one of the logs over the water fountain, and I thought he looked a little bemused. No cosy nest; no noisy siblings, no parents bringing food… And what is the big, one-eyed black thing pointed at me? Really, a bit of “Now what?” for this little guy.

I’m sure he’ll do just fine! I told him so, just before he flew up into a high beech branch, presumably to contemplate his future options. Such a wee beauty!

constructed in 1998 as one out of six buildings to form

our technology centre for innovative photonics and optics

enterprises. It covers a total of 6,320 m² rentable space.

The two amoeboid shaped laboratory-, office- and

hall- buildings, designed by the architects Sauerbruch

Hutton won several awards. The buildings provide a high

standard technical infrastructure as well as flexible room

partitioning."
